Using Miniatures?

Hello all, what does that mean - "ability to use miniatures in the battles" in this game?. Sorry, I dont understand. Is it for tabletop gaming?

Yes, you can use mini's and play it out on a table then input results back into game...from what i gathered....................

I've used the game to play a campaign, as the campaign map, and miniatures to play the battles. It works quite well.
