Danish Anyone? 1792 Denmark

I decided to be proactive and try and organize my own game, so I decided to throw in a twist to see if I have any takers.

I propose a 1792 Denmark game (ie. Denmark replacing Sweden as a major power). Bonaparte attrition. With or without Russian Guard's All Generals Mod (though I think WITH would be better). Length-23 years. Highest Glory. Advanced Economy, of course.

As the proposer of this game, I'll be glad to take the weak country, Denmark.

Not sure about bids for the others. Whatever everyone else thinks would be best.

SINCE I have had some interest, I'll make a list here at the 1st posting:

For voting: IN CAPS-Confirmed Country (vote for 1792 Denmark All Generals/Vote for regular Denmark (if no All Generals)/Vote for forger)

ENGLAND--Aprezto (yes/yes/?)
France--Guctony
SPAIN---Dab (yes/?/no), TZ- GMT -6 (US central time), Lang-English
PRUSSIA--AndrewKurtz (yes/yes/no)
AUSTRIA--Deerslayer (abstain/abstain/abstain)
TURKEY--Deadmeat1471 (yes/?/?)
RUSSIA--Carl Rugenstein (yes/yes/no)
DENMARK---Evwalt (yes/yes/no) TZ-GMT -6 (US central time) , Lang-English

Maybees---Kingmaker, Ironwarrior

Interesting. If I hadn't just started another 23 year game, I would be up for it. Good luck. And I will be interested to hear about how this goes for the Danish! :)

Danish ? I love Danish !! Mmmmm.

Thanks for being proactive. Please count me in your merry band. I'm not very experienced so would prefer to not play France, Austria or England.

FOR SPAIN

I am inexperienced at PBEM, but from reading these forums, the SPAINISH player is the one who merges the turns.

It appears this requires some extra Oomph computing power, so to avoid the problems some other games appear to be having, we want to make sure that our Spanish player can merge with no problems.

Of course, I am not sure how to test this. Anyone have any ideas?

I've been tinkering with Russia so I think I'd like to try them.

Don't know if there is a need but I have some web page space available if it would be useful.

HiHi

I'll fill in a slot if you get really stuck (not france, and not if it involves fiddling with Set-up); but can I also suggest you Chaps have a trawl around for new players from your contacts, the wider the field of players the better.

All the Best
Peter

Too many games for me ATM.  I would fill in on reserve if needed though.

I'd like to join this game when it gets going. I have a fairly good computer and would be willing to give a go at playing Spain to be the merge person.

I have a business working from home via the phone, fax, and internet so I am at the computer a good part of every day.

I have been playing against the AI for a long time but never a PBEM.

So put me down for "Will play Spain unless someone else really wants it".

Great! Dab down for Spain at the moment.

No worries about PBEM--I think it is new for a few of us and we will feel it through the first few turns.

Halfway there with another maybe. Anyone for France?

Yes, indeed a place. I'll put you down for France and firm up the list at the top, since we seem to be going with selection instead of bidding

Looks like we need a Prussia and a Turkey.

Depending on if Deerslayer wants England or Austria, we will need the one he doesn't take.

Three more!

Cool good to see progress on this one. Put me down as a 'maybe' as well. Only just to help out if needed, I have a lot of games on my plate right now. Plus I'd rather see new players get in.

HiHi

Ditto IW, new players take preference.

Re fiddling with Set up, I ain't modding stuff up, full praise to the Chaps that spend there time creating the Mods [&o] , but I just don't like fiddling around with the Set-up.

All the Best
Peter

As we begin to fill up, time now to get everyones thoughts on using Russian Guard's 1792 ALL GENERALS mod (I believe 2 of 3 of the other games use it).

It basically allows for the later generals to appear (including Napoleon!) that would NOT appear normally. Only the French player would have an extra step in the game, manually removing his starting NM bonus general (whose name escapes me at the moment) when Napoleon appears (so he has only 1 NM bonus).

So, do we want this or not? Again, I would vote YES (even though it helps Denmark not at all!) Can't imagine Napoleon never appearing in a Napoleonic game.
