Yes, but because of the printing delays we've been dealing with, it will unfortunately be three to four weeks before they ship out.

It's not us, we ran into some major problems (that we had less than a week's notice on) with our printers that I won't go into detail with, but suffice it that we had to replace printers and overhaul the physical process on the fly while still getting releases out the door. We seem to be through the woods, but we're all pretty stressed and have a lot of physical printing to catch up on now.

I understand that the boxed versions are delayed, but can Matrix still make the boxed version with digital download option available in the intereim? That way I can still download and play the game, while the boxed version is backordered. Thanks!

Unfortunately, due to how that process works, this is something that we can't easily do. It could cause more problems than it solves right now. I expect those options will show up in 2-3 weeks, about a week before the physical copies actually ship out.

Funny how we are all different in our needs. I love the digital downloads that Matrix offers and don`t ever buy the CD version. In fact, I was just on the Shrapnel support site telling them the same - that I probably won`t buy any of their games - and there are a couple that I would like - because they either don`t offer digital download, or if they do offer a digital download you have to burn it to a CD to install it.

Kudos to Matrix for giving us so many options. Let`s not complain about how long it takes for things to come out as long as we keep getting so much choice.

hueglin: Yep; I would beg Shrapnel to do digital downloads when they had my products, but they kept telling me people wanted CD copies more, and that the bandwidth involved would hurt their profits. I know for a fact they would sell better with DD's, but they wouldn't listen. Some already predict within 10-15 years, digital download will become the standard for distributing PC software.

I prefer digital downloads. I just burn it to a disk for back-up along with a text file that has the serial number. I can understand people wanting the printed manual as they are nice, but I am used to the PDF's now and print my own.

I love the fact that I can get a game immediately.

I do the exact same things. With the way Matrix does serial numbers and they DON'T require an eLicense or similar, burning a CD with a text file for the reg number is a snap. I have shelves of printed out PDF's in nice binders too. [;)] These are actually better than the printed manuals as they are larger and you can highlight and write in them too. The printed manuals are smaller and use a glossy paper which makes writing on them not work as good. I admit though, the printed manuals are nice for quickly looking things up.
