Thanks for the debug help.

New question:
How do I get the game to appear in fullscreen mode?

It opens up on my 2nd monitor (as opposed to my laptop screen) which is preferred, but it does not appear in full screen nor is there a fullscreen icon to click on.

that depends on hardware and software tbh, not game, so without knowing your hardware and software version installed and used, i'd be guessing.

Nvidia or AMD?

not that it matters as it will be in the options for the card in use and the software installed with them, which is a google search or manual read as i wouldn't know either off hand, but won't be supported or maybe even mentioned in the game manual either, so it's card manual which ever one you use

It's NVidia, but I still have no clue how to get it to run in full screen mode. I have plenty of games which I just click the Full Screen button in upper right between minimize and X and there you have it.

I'm not quite sure how changing the card settings will help me out.

Additionally, is there a way to drag/drop the entire game screen?

Thanks in advance for the help.

Maybe this helps:
Open file Matrix Games\Civil War II\CW2\Settings\Display.opt

There are options to be set:

FullScreen = 0
Windowed = 1
Borderless = 1

BTW, if i start the game, the first menu screen looks like being a window, but if i start
a campaign, the map fills the whole screen.

Thanks, but I don't have a Settings folder in that directory - only:
Saves
Scripts
Logs
