Hi,
I could not decide to buy Guns of August 1914 - 1918 now. [:(]

Unfortunately, the forum won't help me here in my decision. [:(]
Nor can I find some decent review's about the game. [:(]

Is the game and the forum die?
If not I would like to get some brief comments from players about the game before I might spend my money.

Would be buying the game again?
Does anyone regret buying? why?
Do you still play the game?
What is good - what is bad?
Still worth to buy?
Still worth playing?

Is there still support for Guns of August 1914 - 1918 [&:]
Other?

I found the game to be fun and realistic. It's a little difficult to play at first, you must use your HQ points very carefully. Once you understand this mechanic -- the game is quite enjoyable. The Central Powers and the Triple Entente can both win -- the game is not lop sided. There is good replayability.

Rereading all the threads in this forum should answer most of your questions -- and it never hurts to ask, ther are a few of us who still regularly patrol the forum. If you're interested in WWI then give it a try.

I found reviews that hated GOA because of its complexity and one called it a "grognard's delight" or something like that. I had to look up grognard since I am not one but I do enjoy playing this game. It is not dead (although I guess there will not be any revisions to the software or the manual) and the forum is not dead either. There may not be a lot of posting there, but if you look at how many views there are of the threads, there are plenty of players.

The manual is woefully inadequate but reading of the forum will make up for much of that.

I do not regret buying the game and look forward to at least one daily fix from each of my human opponents.

Support? Never needed anything other than extra troops, raw materials, etc.[;)]

Seriously, I have no idea what support Matrix has for GOA but I have never had a problem that would have required their assistance.

Bottom line, buy it, get familiar with it by playing AI a few times as CP and a few times as TE and then go against a human opponent.
