1922 (fewer bugs to fix - only Hermes' squadrons), 3 day turns, expand/upgrade/replace off, pdu off, doctrines on. Pretty much as historical as possible. Japan is fine.

I just "finished" a 4 player 1922 campaign ... we got over half way ... 1 Allied player dropped out after first year ... I was most IJA and submarines and AK/TK ... other Japanese player was combat fleet ... We took China/VN coast from Saigon through Korea ... all of PI ... (map east) half of Borneo ... all of Celebes ... North side of NG and still holding all the mandates ...
Captn was the remaining allied player. Both fleets were substantially in being ... Allies were trying to take Saigon for the third time. I think Allies were starting to run out of time ... we bombarded at Saigon and got a resignation.
It is a fun game due to the lack of air planes ... but sometimes the pace is glacial ... hence the 3 day turns is probably a great idea. That's how I play solo.

That's what I'm starting to notice, too. Back in 2005-2010 Japanese players were essentially doomed. Low fuel stocks, constantly increasing Allied presence... It was tough to find a player willing to take on the task.
And now things have changed. Japan is on a roll.
So, would you be interested in a game, too? I think I would be willing to give 1926 a shot.
