Will Matrix be picking it up? I hate to order it from them and worry about the exchange rate.

Yes, we will be carrying AGEOD's World War One.

Good news for both AGEOD and Matrix! [:)]
The game looks very promising IMHO! [&o]
Check the beta AAR started earlier today

Well, that will be number 3 for my Christmas shopping spree. BftB, FOF-(or other ACW[&:]), and a nice WW1 strategic/operational game. If there is one thing that keeps getting better in this world, it is gaming.
AGEOD is planning on the 11th of Nov. I suppose that the Matrix version will be at a later date-I wonder how much later.

The game is already downloadable right now (some 900 MB). But it will be playable first on 11th of Nov. then using a small unlocking "patch".
Besides:
You can find 16 screenshoots and a great AAR in the AGEOD forum. It really seem to have depth without being a clickfeast.

Not graphically attractive, though. I suppose that's due to it's boardgame heritage.

Really? for me it looks far better than 95% of the PC wargames around... [&:]
And only slightly worst than the rest of the AGEOD games that IMHO looks better than 99,9% of the war games around [;)]
By the way, the screens are from a beta version which is still missing part of the definitive graphics.

Yeah, I assumed as much. When I said "unattractive", I was referring to the drabness of some of the map screenshots.

Drabness? Well, it’s all about WW1.
Probably you’re just indulged by deep Pacific blue....

This is true, but the other AGEOD games are a lot nicer looking.

I agree the look is HORRIBLE!! Ageod always has nice and smooth graphics. What happened here did they fire their graphic guy and hire some intern who has no skill set... pure ugly this is horrible I would be embarrased to put the AGEOD name and logo on this game if I was in charge of AGEOD. Change it please make it in the same ballpark graphically as the other games.

I thought wargamers weren't supposed to be graphics whores [:D]
Anyway, Ageod is releasing it on the 11th. When will Matrix have it? The game looks great, but I'd rather get it from you.

It should at least be lightened up so you can see the units better.

I thought it was a tad drab too. But it IS WWI and perhaps I was only seeing screenshots for the Fall turns or something. Precious few screenies out there anyway. I am still not too convinced about the up and down Europe (got to push my way SOUTH to FRANCE!). But the gameplay looks rather something special. Lots of options here, and loads of cool diplomacy, choice of your "war plan" and reactions to enemy plans, dwindling supplies of ammo, sounds very very cool.

Why? That's just stupid.

The current BoA/AACW/NC/WiA engine has fall and winter turns too, but they look a lot nicer. This looks disappointing compared to those.
I like lots of options and events too (always an AGEOD strong point), so I'm not ruling out getting it, but it doesn't appeal visually.

More accurately, on Tuesday, 11th November 2008 at 11:00 AM GMT, the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month... 90 years on from the Armistice then.

Well, no kidding, Sherlock. I meant it was stupid to offer a product for sale when there's three weeks until it's usable.
