Cant create/join Multiplayer

This revised and updated turn-based grand strategy game from the team at AGEOD brings players back to World War I, including both the Eastern and Western fronts and over 4 campaigns and 10 scenarios. As either a member of the Central Powers, the Entente or a neutral nation, players will confront the epic gauntlet of military and political challenges that faced the likes of Kitchener, Joffre, Luddendorf, Clemenceau, Czar Nicholas II or Enver Pasha.

Cant create/join Multiplayer

Post by Joseignacio »

Hi guys,

I bought this game a long time ago, but I didnt really got hooked to it.

Now a friend wants us to play MP but I simply cannot connect both pcs.

Following the instructions to "get my IP" y get my private IP that only helps within the router network.

Either that one (obviously) or the right one that we get from here, dont work :

https://whatismyipaddress.com/

We create the game, with a nickname , a name for the game, select scenario, a password, ..., the other guy writes the right ip, selects "internet", with the right password ,etc.. Searches, and nothing happens

Can somebody help explaining how can we connect both pcs?

You're running the 1.08q patch which means that multi-player is PBEM. Check your game folder, there should be a .pdf file named WW1_PBEM_Manual, which installed with the patch.

Never used it so no idea if it works or not. The community consensus back in the day was that AGEOD titles in general, provided a pretty solid PBEM experience but the feature was added on to WW1G quite some time after release so it would be a surprise if there were no issues. That said, never used PBEM so am relating this from memory as PBEM was a occasional topic in the AGEOD forum for the game.
