New GTOS-Shield of the Prophet DLC screenshots

Achtung Panzer:Operation Star is an Eastern Front wargame with solid graphics and sprawling battlefields that really emphasize the scope of WWII tank combat. The gameplay is a remarkably realistic turn-based and real-time operational/tactical hybrid wargame that continues the series begun by the acclaimed Achtung Panzer: Kharkov 1943.

Nice screenshots btw. I'm currently DLing Shield of the Prophet from GG but at 60kb/sec, I have several hours to kill. Back to CM Gustav Line in the meantime. [:)]

This is a stunning game. I am normally a WW2-only player, but I DL'd this title and the patch today and... Wow. Hooked!

And with QB mode you can now put German armour in the desert vs. Soviet Matildas and Stuarts. So, fingers crossed a Desert Fox campaign can't be too far off!

I normally do OK with the GTOS campaigns but I always get my butt kicked in CM. Any thoughts on why that might be?

Not that I'm aware of.

These are screenshots of some Quick Battles I did simulating the Chechen war using modern Soviet and Mujihadeen forces from the Shield of the Prophet DLC.

After reading up on that war I started using the Cubans from Operation Hooper to simulate the Chechens seeing as the Chechens had 12-15 T-54s and 62s plus about 100 APCS of Soviet make at the beginning of their war with Russia.

Andrey hinted that after the next modern DLC about a Sino Russian border skirmish in 1969 that Graviteam may revisit Angola again for some earlier Operations that took place South of the Hooper area of Operations.

He also said Hooper sold better than any of the WW2 DLCs which I find surprising.

I think most of us bought into the modern stuff to help finance the long awaited Mius front game and the DLCs planned for it.
