About those DLC's?

Achtung Panzer:Operation Star is an Eastern Front wargame with solid graphics and sprawling battlefields that really emphasize the scope of WWII tank combat. The gameplay is a remarkably realistic turn-based and real-time operational/tactical hybrid wargame that continues the series begun by the acclaimed Achtung Panzer: Kharkov 1943.

About those DLC's?

Post by Missouri_Rebel »

Any word yet on the DLC's? It's been over 2 months since they were first asked about and while I prefer to buy through Matrix, I guess I am getting impatient. If they are not going to be coming into the Matrix collection then I'd prefer to get them sooner rather than later?

I have been playing with the Gamersgate version of the game and DLCs since they first came out. Well worth having. As far as I know, the game is the same regardless of where you buy it, apart from the installer (?), so the DLCs should work, but I can't guarantee it.

I got the Matrix version of Achtung Panzer Operation Star and recently purchased Volokonovka 1942 DLC from Strategy First. All works well.

I'm reloading Star after a long break. It seems patching is a bit complicated. Do the DLCs bring Star up to date?

If you have the matrix version of operation star in order to get rid of the black ground in the dlc.
1- reinstall game.
2- install k43t_apos_patch_07c_(feb12_eng) for APOS (not the core update just the patch).
3- install the dlc.

I had previously forgot to mention having to install 07c patch.

I might have to do just that. I really prefer Matrix though. IMO, their support is second to none and you always completely own the game. No need for specialized installers.

The missus just bought a new swimming suit and I prefer to wage the Disposable Income battle on a tit for tat basis. Looks like I have $50 to spend and the game will still be in fashion next year, unlike her suit.

I would have prefered Matrix version of dlc too but never heard anymore about it from them. I've used no specialized installers. All my stuff is backed up on hard drive, dvd or flashdrive. Check my post out above about avoiding black ground in dlc when using matrix ver of apos.

My player profile was still there too, no problem.

1) Download and unpack patch to any folder.
2) Run update utility (click on game version top right corner in main menu).
3) In the window that appears, click "Install" button and select "CORE\desc.addpack" file
in folder with unpacked patch.
4) Wait for the installation.
5)Click "Save and Play" button.
6)Then do same with dlc

So buying from Strategy First is not like buying from GamersGate where you have a specialized installer? Is that correct iceman?

Thanks

I got the older Achtung Panzer: Kharkov 1943 from gamersgate the other day for $5.00
I've never had to use a special client for Gamersgate or strategy first . Usually just download the .exe to install the game.
Occasionally you will come across a game you activate on steam.

on gg you have to have an internet connection to install the game again because it uses a specialized installer for all their games.

Ill have to check about SF and see if they do
