PBEM Problem

Well, in my only 2 Battlefront games, neither is able to be finished.

The first, my opponent, decided to take a break from his turn and come back to it to finish it later. Unfortunately he cannot open the turn.

The second, was due to the computer freezing and a hard reboot of the PC. Now this opponent is unable to open the turn.

Any suggestions?

Well that just sucks...

So both games are screwed?  I dont want to be an ass here, but it's incredibly frustrating.  I love the game, but I just cannot believe that beta testers did not catch this.

Really ticks me off because of all the work I spent on an AAR, and now that game is unplayable.

Ugh!!!!!!!!!!

Yep. This is frustrating. There is a chance if you PM/email me we can do something to resurrect the game. It would be really nice to have an option of "I've messed up the turn and need to reload"... you could let your opponent know in advance so that an understanding would be in place.

BTW... believe the inability to have an ersatz save feature dissappeared in the final beta test version released shortly before going gold. Its a very nice undocumented/unintended capability of DB.

Your call on this. I really don't want what limited resources you guys at SSG have available wasted on trying to salvage a saved game. Others have had the same problem as well it appears, so I don't want to open a can of worms with salvaging other "bugged" email games.

If there is an easy solution email me at jrockwell72@comcast.net

If not, then I am sure I will get over my frustration.

Read it carefully - you MIGHT be able to keep the games going - just save the saves somewhere else and nuke the contents of the secure folder, and then play.

"If you have this problem blocking other email games you can go to the email/secure folder and delete all the files in it. This folder keeps track of the current PBEM game being played. Deleteing these files allows other games to continue."

Here is the first report on it; it happened to my PBEM partner, and he fixed it;

I certainly hope you don't intend to keep it this way. Thats not what Keating seemed to be saying.

It would be very nice to do part of a turn, save it, and come back to it.
