Korsun Pocket is a the second game using the award winning SSG Decisive Battles game engine. Korsun Pocket recreates the desperate German attempt to escape encirclement on the Russian Front early in 1944. The battle is a tense and exciting struggle, with neither side having a decisive advantage, as the Russians struggle to form the pocket, then try to resist successive German rescue efforts and last ditch attempts at breakout.

Sicily scenarios released

Post by wodin »

Sicily scenarios have been released at the Run 5 site.

All those who have this game but havent downloaded the scenarios over at Run 5, I ask WHY?

They are all superb and make this game even better with so much more in battle variety.

Yeah. The new Op Husky scenario is great. Very pro looking, and the map is aces.

Have enjoyed playing two of the Operation Husky scenarios. Am looking forward to the full game. Quite a bargain with all the extra scenarios this game has produced.

One historical question...the Operation Husky scenarios, if I read it correctly, have units from the 7th U.S. Infantry Divison and the 47th U.S. Infantry Division. The 7th was only employed, as far as I know, in the Pacific and I don't know of a 47th Division. Am I reading this wrong or is there a scenario (editor) reason for the unit designations?

Bennett,

7th Infantry = 7th INF REG of 3d ID
47th Infantry = 47th INF REG of 9th ID

=> 7th ID only fought in Pacific.

=> 47th ID is the US Viking Division. It did take part in ETO ('45).

See link for visual reference of division to unit patch:

Thanks for the quick answer. The new link to the US army site is most appreciated.
