Hello,
Trying to play from France using the UK version (updated to 1.11) with somebody from the USA using the US version (updated to 1.11) I get the following problem:
I receive the first turn from the US opponent, I can play my first turn w/o problem, but when I terminate the turn, after the send/exit button, the message is not generated by the sendmail process ...
I am playing with other europeans with out problem.
Is ther something incompatible between the US and the UK version ?
Thanks, Lago.[&:]

Go to your " KP/ Send " folder and attach the file.
Then send like any other PBEM game.

Joe,
As I said in the forum post, the resulting file (after my turn) is not generated (I cannot find it any where (even in the KP saved game dataset),so I cannot attach it to a new mail.

UK and US versions should be fully compatible.
Check to see if you have a long path name to the ...\SaveEmail\SEND\ folder. Also check to see that the PBEM file name is short (i.e. kp1.dkp)... long file name can cause problems too.
Seems like this was the cause of the failure you describe... you should have a *.dat file instead of the *.dkp turn file IIC.

Joe, thanks to spend time on my problem.
When an end-of-turn works, it uses I suppose, the EmailSender exec from my AutoEmailer dataset.
With the only game that do not work when the turn is "exit and send" on one hand a mail is not generated and on an other hand I cannot find a saved game file in the SaveEmail/Send dataset. In this SaveEmail/Send dataset there is only an envelope folder called KorsunCampaign_Ald_02.eml. But this last file refer to outlook express when I try to open it, then my email soft is outlook from office XP 2002.
Raymond.

It sure sounds like you have installed the game in a long directory path AND have a long file name for the game itself.
Do you have the 1.12 patch installed? It should fix these problems. If you don't, make sure your game name is under 8 characters long--on some systems, if it is too long it saves the file as an eml instead of a dat file.

It works. Was because of a too long game name.
Many thanks. Lago.

I was one of the playtesters for KP and was sent a copy of the US version. I have upgraded to v1.11 but am playing a European opponent who was just upgraded to v. 1.12. Is there a US upgrade to v 1.12? I have tried to load the first turn of an e-mail scenario he sent me but I get a message saying that the header cannot be read. The name of the game is not longer than 8 characters. Any answers?

Duncan,
If you go to the games link at the top of the page, then search by developer for "Strategic Studies Group" (us), and then select korsun pocket, on the left is a link to downloads for Korsun Pocket. One of these is the v1.12 installer to upgrade your US version to v1.12 - this also fixes the game name length bug, so you are free to install to any directory/have your email game length as long as you want.
