With the help of your instructions, when I launched the game, and when I hit Alt+Tab and held it, I saw the running applications to which you referred. I did not, however, find the Unit Viewer. I exited the game, launched the Unit Viewer, minimized the Unit Viewer, and launched the game again. This time when I hit Alt-Tab with the game running, I saw the Unit Viewer logo and was able to launch it from within the game.

Is this the way it's supposed to work, or have I still missed a step or messed something up? Do I have to launch the Unit Viewer and minimize before going into the game, or is there a way to launch both the game and the Unit Viewer at the same time and avoid having to launch and minimize the Unit Viewer first? If there's a way to mess something up royally, I usually find it.

This really is a great addition. Thanks again.
No, you are making everything right [:D]
It doesn't matter if you run Unit Viewer first and then start the game or vice versa (as you did).
You can not launch both programs at the same time...only if you make batch file that do it for you (if you are interested I can post description how to make one : it is easy - almost, and you can not screw things - almost [;)] )
I'll add "Play the game" button to next version of Unit Viewer

Excellent!

I'll wait for the "Play the game" button in the next version of Unit Viewer. I'm familiar with the word "batch" only in the context of chocolate chip cookies.

I hope there was no hangover from your birthday. If there was a hangover, I hope you survived it.

Thanks again. You've been tremendously helpful.

I really like this and hate to put upon you even more but I was wondering how to print out a comparison chart (to save alt+tab - which, coincidentally, I learnt an awful lot about in this forum!) I have tried pressing the Print screen key but that never seems to work for me anyway.
Is there a simple way?

Print screen copy entire screen into memory(clipboard) only, you must "dump" clipboard somewhere later.

Better way is press Right Alt (Alt Gr on some keyboards) key + Print screen key (it will copy only active window to clipboard ) then open MS Paint (Start-> Programs->Accessories) or some document editor like Word and paste clipboard's content there (Ctrl+V).
Then you can print it.

Next improvement for Unit Viewer will be print support or maybe just save to pdf feature for comparison tab.

Thanks Arkady ... I have latest version working fine now. I did notice a few things that are probably a bit off in the Americans OOB. P10047 and P10048 have no soft or attack values. P10090 M4A3E8 w/applique HQ unit has a hard attack value that can almost punch a hole thru an M1 Abrams. I believe P10090 has it's attack values mixed up with the T26E4-1 Super Pershing. When I go to see the Super Pershings attack values, all I get is an error notice of some sorts.

Issues with these attack values may have to be addressed within the U.S. OOB and have nothing to do with the JTCS Unit Viewer.

Sorry Arkady ... It was American P100708 and not P10090 that had the outragous attack values. Don't believe those attack values it has are from P10709 becouse I worked the attack values for that one, and they weren't that high last I remember. LOL

Great Idea. What would be really nice would be a force list so you could print out a list of your units and their stats in a scenario for easy reference.

Yes, P10047 and P10048 weapons data are missing from weapons.pdt and weapons.pdx files
I'll look for P10090 error
P10708 and P10709 have super high attack values, I'll check why but it is weapons file (game) probelm

Arkady,

When I initially viewed the two units P10047 and P10048, It was for the WF game. It appears these two units have been brought over from the RS game thru update patches ect. Both of these units have proper attack values in the JTCS Unit viewer when selecting the RS game to view them.

As for P10708. That unit should have attack values that mirror the other American M4 Shermans armed with the 76mm gun. As for P10709. That unit is representing the single T26E4-1 Super Pershing that saw limited use in the last few months of the war in europe. It was armed with the experimental L/73 calibers 90mm gun that utilized HVAP ammunition. Penatration tables between it and the German 88mm L/71 calibers gun, Show the 90mm L/73 having 20% better penetration ability than the German 88mm L/71 using rationed APCR ammo. P10709 should have a very high hard attack value.

Hi,
I finally add new feature, Save to PDF for comparison chart.
I don't want use third party library for creating PDF files so I need learn how to create PDF file myself. Fortunately Adobe released reference manual for PDF format [8D]

Download new version (1.0.3.1) http://arkady.cz/utilities/JTCS_UnitViewer.zip
and replace old files on your computer.
"Save to PDF" button is on Comparison tab, select first some units to compare to make the tab available.

Please report any problem with this new feature, thanks.

It seems that current version of UnitVewer will be not working with 1.03 patch

Spend time with new manual and enjyoing the game instead [8D]

Arkady,

I'm looking forward to when it will be working for v1.03.

It would be nice if they allowed a "plugin" type of adaptation to JTCS.

For those that don't want to ALT-TAB out of JTCS you can simply press either F1,F3,F4,F5 and this will keep JTCS maximized and you can access his program from the menu button on the bottom of your screen.

So, yeah ... making your program F6 would be SWEET!! Jason, you listening? We know you are [:'(].
