Windows 10 compatibility with JTCS

I had a perfectly running game on a laptop running Win 10 that unfortunately crashed so I tried a clean install of the game on another laptop also running Win 10 and that's when the fun started.

I first received a message that autorun was not working and sure enough the game selection screen would appear but none of the buttons worked.
Lomg story short I started investigating online and one solution was to download a visual MS patch from 2008 which I selected the 64 bit version since my system is 64 bit but the patch didn't work

I also received the side by side error that many players have experienced and I'm sure my problem can be solved if someone would layout the steps I need to follow. Also do I need to install 1.04 from 20007 first then 2.02 from 2014 in order or does it not matter?

Follow as a starting point.

I'd recommend download the old 32 bit version, that seems to have the most luck from what I have seen.

The 2.02 Download should be all that you need.

Thanks very much Jason for the information. I assumed thar there was a proven procedure for fixing this problem. I will delete the corrupted game and start from scratch and install the 32 bit version this time then load 2.02 because you confirmed what I suspected that this version is all I need.

I will post a status update once the new install is completed
