Seeing as you are talking still about it and didn't even bother to acknowledge an apology for a mistake when it was genuinely made.

I would still like to see and explanation for

In light of my post from last December which might explain why I was angered by your 160 idiots line or was it just a big coincide.

Take a look at the blitz 2011 CS ladder you will notice there are over 160 different players who have played it this year this is just at one of the game clubs that promote the game.

[:-] No I am not getting at you or your club even. I am getting at you getting at the blitz club as a whole. You may have issues with some players me included that's not an issue even though we have never played each other. the mods and officials maybe, but surely not the whole user-base. [&:]

Get a life Otto! None of this really matters, only to those who
live in a virtual World?
I had a nice day at the pub, talking to real people, having a laugh.
Nobody here is anything but a load of text on my machine so, do you
really think I'm bothered with any of you idiots?
A few over the years I've made friends with, met and are still friends.
Do you really think I'm bothered enough to worry about your posts, just
give up on it without having to have the last say.

Yes I had a nice day as well thanks, working mostly, but also talking to friends and relatives, walking the dog, being out in the sun drinking wine and working in the garden. I'm also glad you had a nice day too it was a corker, and i do have a full and rewarding life but I am glad to hear you are hoping for me to get another one, cheers but ones enough thanks all the same.

That doesn't stop me being honest and true to my self in the real and virtual world something you seem to have a problem with.

As I say in my tag "personal isn't the same as important" and I do believe that. But if you are trying to slag off a lot of my friends that I have also made over the years, that have done nothing to you just because they also belong to a site that of a couple of people you have had on line arguments with that does bother me.

I had the decency to apologizes to you, I think you should show the same and apologize to those that you have called names without reason [no I don't mean me, and I'm sure RR and a few others don't care either]. and at least change your tag to the true amounts of idiots from the blitz you think you have come across, If you total them up I bet you wouldn't even need to use your toes, I could do it on one hand and a lot of them including yourself have left over time.

Believe me the place is much better off without you.

If you can just do that little thing, I found it very easy, then you can surely have the last word from me on the matter. [;)]

This explains it all - Peter, we are not just text on your machine but actual real, thinking, feeling people who have ego's, personality's and character. We get our feelings hurt when you are critical and mean, we react when you unthinkingly speak your every unfriendly thought. I am glad you have friends and family and a life outside of your virtual experience, we all do. We just appreciate the same consideration and respect we give to our real life friends and family from our virtual friends and family. Just because it appears like text on your machine does not make it any less real - not sure if you follow karmic philosophies but you are not spreading goodwill (and you are mistaken if you think it does not matter).

Go well, be happy.

Yes Ashley, I realise that and that's the same as me but,
the few friends I have made at game sites, are people I would still be
in touch with and friends in real life, should I ever give up on wargaming
or throw my PC away cos I spend more time on it than I should.
People who constantly attack me for who I am, will never be missed and will
cease to exist in my real world.

Fair enough, if it were me I would just ignore the confrontation and not contribute to it. Good luck with your club, how many members you got now?

Life is a series of decisions and having to live with the consequences of those decisions Peter?

I am thankful that I maintain a generally optimistic outlook on life and I treat folks I come in contact - either "real" or in the "virtual world" - with honesty, and good will.

And I've made mistakes, but try to learn from them and move on? I don't constantly dwell on the past, and will not allow others to try to keep me chained to it either.

Ironically, the reason this thread exists and folks have contributed to it (negatively or positively)... is because people DO care about pushing those virtual pixel tanks and men around an electronic battle field. But more importantly, folks DO care about the friendships they have made over the years with other players who enjoy war games.

It does no good, but only hurts when labels get slapped on folks? Flesh and blood "real" people with "real" feelings type those "loads of text" in these forums?

I think the "virtual world" is certainly large enough to accommodate many war game clubs... and for members to be respectful of each other?

Maybe less arguing and fussing... and more constructive posts should be the order of the day?

How about it gents?

The World in Flames tournament is basically a set of two teams, Axis and Allied (obviously), who are given scenarios to battle it out by the Facilator (Ashcloud). Players can come in and drop out as they have time available.

I don't believe there's any AARs or so available. If you look at the thread and its older Situation cards (PDF) you can see what was going on, ie. what scenarios were played and by whom. I was off the tournament for six months due to work-life things, just rejoined so I have missed the latests.

If interested just post to the thread there and say you'd like to join in. If you have an absolute preference say Allied, just say it, and once there is an opposite player available you would be assigned to a scenario. What ever the scenario, you then need to battle it out, report the result, and then opt for the next assignment.

That's all there is to it. Welcome!

EDIT: Btw, World in Flames is just a name given to tournament, to reflect the fact the scenarios will be covering all fronts of WF, EF and RS. If you are a fan of a particular "WiF" the tourney might have nothing to do with it :)
