Expanding production

Post by Twotribes »

Each city can have its production expanded assuming you have enough manpower and resources. I recommend you shoot for about 50 to 65 production in each city. Further I recommend that as you can you get more research by building research centers in cities with universities and Universities in other cities.

First though you need that increase in production. With very small cities I recommend you build the smallest production until you have at least 20 production. With 20 you can then build 2 of the 10 production and from there build the 15's. Eventually due to research you will have factories that increase production by 20. But I have usually built up most of my cities to at least 50 by then.

Once you have about 50 in a city look at research and production of unit buildings. Research is very important the faster you can research the faster you will grow and gain new types of units. So far I have only seen two buildings for research. A university gives you one research point in a city. Once that is there you can build a research center which adds 2 Research.

Also for research you need special buildings for the different fields. Not every city needs every building. As you build up you have to balance research needs with unit needs and specialty buildings for such.
Favoritism is alive and well here.
