Calling all TOAW III scenario designers!

Post by JAMiAM »

We are getting close to releasing another patch for TOAW III, and would like to take the opportunity to allow scenario designers the chance to submit their completed TOAW III scenarios for inclusion in the next patch. Unfortunately, we are not offering complimentary games in exchange for newly submitted materials, and thus your only recognition would be the glory of having your scenario included as an "official" TOAW III scenario.

All submissions need to be sent to me at iamjamiam (at) yahoo (dot) com and must include "TOAW III scenario submission" in the subject line. The QA Team will make all final decisions on whether a scenario makes it into the patch. Those scenarios that do not make the cut for this patch will receive feedback, if requested, on what to revise and may be resubmitted for inclusion in future patch releases. Scenario submissions must be received by 20:00 GMT, June 28th, 2007 for consideration in the next patch.

Thank you for your continuing support of TOAW III!

Are there plans to incorporate the 19th century equipment database with the new patch or something along those lines and how many new scenarios do you envision being added with this patch? Thank you for any and all information.

With regard to the 19th century database, that is an open source project that can be used by whichever designers who wish to incorporate it into their scenarios. As such, it depends on whether a designer uses it and submits a scenario based on it.

As far as how many scenarios might be included, well...it's still early, and I just announced it. It depends on the state of development that the various and sundry designers have with respect to their creations, and how polished the QA Team feels they are.

may I ask that these new scenarios are identified in some manner? After the last patch I could not find a list of the new or updated patches, just a complete list.

Thanks
If it doesn't work, rename it. If that doesn't help, the new name isn't long enough.

Actually, there have been three patches. The first was rushed out in the first week, when we realized about four hours after we released it, that we had broken reconstitution in a late, untested, "low risk" tweak.

Yeah, but all we really need is the latest patch since they are cumulative; so......

Did you mean a list of new or updated scenarios?

That can be found in the Whatsnew file, item #38.

I was thinking the same thing, Larry. I'll have to ask Matrix to take down v3.0.0.17.

LoL...yeah. That's what I get for not checking to see if what *I* had on this computer was the correct version. I do most of my development work on the laptop, and apparently what I was checking on my desktop machine was a preview version that we did end up getting corrected after all. The reason I was so "tense" was that I could have sworn that it did get done and was shocked (in error, as it turned out) that it didn't.

This has got to make absolutely no sense to anyone who didn't see the first version, and frankly...I plan to keep it that way...[;)]

We all make mistakes.
That's a good plan.

away for a while

Yes I meant scenarios.

If they are listed in the what's new that is great.

However for my compulsive, instant gratification needed, type of personality I would love it if there were asterisks (*) or something like that indicating those new or updated scenarios in the folders.

I know, I'm lazy.

the 19th century database is interesting...

But I'ld pay money for a new version of Age of Rifles.

Timing is everything!  I just finished updating the eight scenarios in The Road to Moscow Series for TOAW...  Mostly play balancing using for TOAW III. The main scenario revisions were to Kiev using David Glantz's recent Battle for Kiev Atlas, and  What If? with more aggrssive Soviet counterattacks on the German flanks as they make a rush toward Moscow in August.
I will be sending you the version 1.1 files shortly...
Nice work,Team!

You mean like navigating to the scenario folder with Explorer and do a 'find files.' I do that a lot to try to find the less complex scenarios.[:'(] You can sort them by date, and get a complete list of the new ones.

AOR was a great little game, I miss it. I am an owner of TOAW2, I wonder where I could find a LIST of ALL the scenarios released with the initial version of TOAW3???? There was one scenario I loved playing against the AI as the Germans, a defense of the West Wall from about Sept. 44, wonder if it is included.
