There is also an in-game hotkey overlay if you don't want to read the manual [;)]

I hope that middle mouse button is still rotate view w/out removing UI?

I'm very excited about the ALT key removing the UI, but hope that I can still look around from bino view while reading the MSG box.

Yes MMB or click the scroll wheel still works to pan and rotate the camera. I like the alt key because my scroll wheel is hard to press enough to click. And removing the HUD reduces the load so that the camera moves faster.

Commander view puts you at TC height which is just above the top edge of the HUD and to the left of the message box. Rolling the scroll wheel forward while in TC view zooms in on what is ahead but does not change the HUD or message box.

Does that explain it well enough?

No. Let me ask precisely:

Does pushing the middle mouse button remove the UI?

No, only pressing the Alt key does that.

No, only pressing the Alt key does that.

I'm so glad only the ALT key does.

Let me also say thanks for:

< - Go to previous unit
} - Go to next Commander
{ - Go to previous Commander
[] - Rewind playback

When I get this game, I'm busting out Glovepie, and I'm going to run the whole thing laying back in my sofa w/my gamepad and voice recognition, projected at 8 feet x 6 feet on my living room wall!

Wow! Thanks again! People often think hotkeys are just for hyperactive RTS playing teenagers, but they are absolutely necessary for Glovepie and Autohotkey freaks to customize the experience!

I have just recently found autohotkey and have been using it to edit the xmls with repetitive text entries. Great program.

Indeed. Autohotkey works w/PC (if run as administrator.) As long as a game has a hotkey for something, you can change it. You can even reprogram mouse buttons. Currently I use it for W-A-S-D camera movement. More hotkeys = more options.
