Historical German Iconography

Post by RAUBKATER1 »

O.K., Here I go again...
The Russians are "allowed" their Historically accurate Communist flag in BCO and I believe it
only fair that the Germans have their Historically accurate National Socialist flag also!
I know... some of you will hoo & ha about the nasty things the nazis did (even though
uncle Joe Stalin killed +10 times the amount of people uncle Adolf ever dreamt about killing- and that mostly his OWN people). I'm just tired of some people, mostly the present day german
government trying to deny their own history_ even though I'm German myself_born & bred
and my dear Dad (rest his soul) fought for Germany in the Kursk battle: So I'm at war again_
against the "Germans",if need be.

Having said that, I present you with a Historically "correct" German LOAD GAME Menu screen file as well as three(3) historically "correct" mini-map objective files (well, at least 2
of them).

Place all 4 files in the Panzer Command Ostfront\Media\Graphics Folder and Enjoy! [:D]

For the Panzer Command Ostfront\Media\Graphics\Objectives folder, place the following files:

Several people have made both Bolshevik and Nazi era flag mods. They aren't included in the game because I think the Nazi flag is illegal in Germany.

So it may be a little problem even posting screen shots with the mod flags in the background. I wouldn't want to get anyone in trouble.

Quite correct!
Illegal in Germany with the german government sucking up to the "Powers that be".
Well, I'm not pushing these icons on anyone.
One can take them or leave them, as you wish!

OK then.
Spellir made some PzIII skin mods a couple of years ago with the Nazi flag on the back deck for air recognition. I don't know if they are available anywhere now. And JMass may have improved the models since then so they might not work very good anymore. But they were pretty neat when I was using them in development.

Raubkater, we could put your mini-map objective files and my Historical Flag mod ( tm.asp?m=2810143 ) in a common JSGME compatible mod.

Thanks Raubkater, but at the end I did a new version of the mini-map objective files based on original ones (with some transparency effect) and I added them to my historical flags mod.
