Clearing up Enhanced Confusion

Post by Alby »

Any Enhanced mod you have prior to Enhanced DV or DVRN is Obsolete and can be deleted...such as Enhanced FV or FV.1

There have been 3 patches for DV and DVRN.
the "100 fix" one, had about 100 fixes in it and it contained all 28 countires OOBs.
http://enhanced.netboardz.com/viewtopic.php?t=163

Recently there has been the USMC Patch,
http://enhanced.netboardz.com/viewtopic.php?t=300

and the German patch...
http://enhanced.netboardz.com/viewtopic.php?t=305

The last 2 recent ones were not planned, but gameplay issues compelled us to release them.
the 100 fix one should be installed prior to the last 2

Download whichever file you plan to use Extract the OOB files inside to somewhere temporary......then you must copy and paste them, or drag them, however you and your particular zip program works, into the existing Mod file you have....
100 fix and German DVRN OOBs go into your Enhanced DVRN Mod file, 100 fix and German DV OOBs go into Enhanced DV mod File.
The USMC File can go into either one.
It should ask you if you want to overwrite existing files....say YES>>>>

If you have all patches installed Rename your mod file to "latest" or "Most Recent" DV (or DVRN) to avoid confusion. Always ask your opponent prior to starting a game if they have all patches applied or not.

Example In my Mods folder I have
DV Mod, Then "Patch" DV Mod which contains the 100 fix patch, then "Latest" DV Mod which contains 100 fix patch plus the recent USMC and German Fixes.

after some time evryone should have the latest patches applied after they finish up PBEM games or whatever.

EDIT...WITH RELEASE OF ENHANCED 2008, ALL THESE PATCHES HAVE NOW BEEN APPLIED, AND THIS POST IS NO LONGER UP TO DATE

Anyone wishing to D/L Enhanced and its Patches should see this thread first - it contains a link to the full, already patched version of the Mod.

Other people who use the geerals edition have had this same message, not sure why....
try just staying at 8.2 then installing Enhanced.
the mech.exe will be swapped olut to 8.403 anyway when you install Enhanced.
or if you are fairly computer literate..
Removing the VERSION REQUIRED = 8.2-8.x sentence from the mod .ini file.

all patches plus more have been added to Enhanced 2008, so the "clearing up confusion" is moot.
