Italy 44 --> Testers Wanted!

Post by RockinHarry »

Hello all,

Enough about Bits n´Bytes on SPWAW maps, here´s what actually can be made with ectizens "mountaniser" and Fred Chlandas´MapEd. Come and visit Italy in 1944!

or watched through "mapthings´" eyes..

I need some play testers for this UK vs Germany engagement, to hear some opinions on how it feels to battle on multi level maps. It´s hypothetical scenario and human player is UK. Interested?

Your maps are downright breathtaking. A topographer's dream. good work. Will you release them as stand alone maps?

Thanks for the good reports so far. :)
I send a couple more files out for test.

Here´s the link for downloading the scenario directly. (Right click link and "save target as...")

Reports and opinions still are welcome.

While I'm only about halfway through this scenario, have taken typically heavy casualities (for me ;)), and would be lucky to achieve a marginal defeat, I must say I'm enjoying this :D

Hi adantas,

nice you´re back. :) How are your crete scenarios progressing?

I think Ectizen is just finalizing "mountaniser" by now, should be out in a couple of days as it seems. (..I hope)

Short history of this "italy44" scenario: As I received the Beta version of "mountaniser" I quickly made this italy map with it and decided to build a full fleshed scenario to test the new slopes and levels. I originally did not intent to release any scenario so soon. Same with the "Radio Comms" thing. Just wanna see how it´s welcome by players.

I would like to start a discussion now on how playable these "mountain" maps are and if this "Radio Comms" feature makes sense or can be improved somehow?! :)

What "mountain scenario" would you like to see next? I have a "caucasus42" in preparation.

You've done a splendid job Harry. I tip my helmet to you.

9 levels! Pretty good. Now I'm gonna redo my Cassino map and get some real height. Nicely done!

A more realistic Cassino map would be just great!!!! :D

I have got to get round to re-doing my Otta map, those hills around the town were up to 500 meters higher than the valley bottom, and the slopes quite steep.

Now, there's a mountainizer challenge!

Hi mate!,

I'm glad to return to the forum, real life took me much time.. :)
About the Crete Scenarios, Fabio just made Heraklion available at his site and now I'm returning to the maps..The next one will be Rethymno..some new ideas about it ;)
Humm Caucasus sounds really interesting!!
I was thinking about von Manstein's offensive against Crimeia and the battle for Sebastopol.

See you mate!!

Final "Bump"...

First of all...thanks to all the testers of this little "demo" scenario. All comments and suggestions were welcome and useful. <img src="smile.gif" border="0">

Here´s what I consider "near final". UK OOB is now much more credible and some other issues have been addressed. If you want to try again or check for the first time:

---> right click and "save target as..."

Have fun
