June, 1946. The quiet of the West German countryside is shattered as political bickering and posturing turns into all out conflict.
The Soviet forces pour into West Germany, and a US force is dispatched to stop them cold.

Answering call "GET BENT, COMMIE!!"
hellcat bombarded my top and bottom corners. No contact between forces. My 155 SPA's played hell with someone that produced smoke, killing a SMG squad, and wounding another unit horribly. Despite good VIS (40?), its raining, and movement will be slow.
hellcat amd I have chosen to ignore vic hexes, and points, and go for the jugular! We are going to fight until he surrenders!

over loudhailer 'SOFT AMERICANSKI THIS IS YOUR LAST CHANCE, GIVE UP NOW AND EMBRACE THE GLORY OF THE PEOPLE'S SOCIALIST SOVIET PATROITIC COMMUNE'
I bombarded his corners as I've noticed the 'Green one' often puts his arty there.
we're seeking him out, there will be no mercy, we have seen some pershings but that's all.

Reply, "TELL YOUR COMMIE MOM I WILL BE OVER LATER FOR MY KEYS! I LEFT 'EM THERE LAST NIGHT!!"
The problem with bombarding the corners is that they are all but impossible to hit! As you have witnessed...
Contact! Several of my Pershings have engaged a T-44 and took it out of action. We exchanged potshots with a T34-85 also, and both tanks are stacked with infantry of some type. Several Commie tracks and bikes can be seen scattered here and there. They have been nuked...

Four Pershings sitting impudently on the hill near the central town! My long range shots all go pretty wild while they seem to be quite accurate... not much contact elsewhere although I know he has riflemen hiding in bushes...

We're coming for you Americanski!

My arty killed a Tank Destroyer, and you need a new MC squad, but quiet otherwise. The rain and large map are making the start slow.

We freedom loving folk aren't hiding, we're jusst slogging forward through the mud and rain. As some of your unfortunate scouts witnessed.... What do you put in the motorbikes, jet fuel? They explode as if you did....
Withdraw now, go back wence ye came, or we'll open up a can of Republic whoopass on you. Frosty cold.

Be real careful with those.
I have found to my lament that the 85mm gun is completely useless against the M26. Get some 100mm ATG, SU-100 or ISU-122 (especially the later model) to deal with it. I lost a lot of IS-1, T-34/85 and the like before I learned how to defeat them!

I laugh at SU-100's! Or at least the one that is a flaming wreck.
If you divide the map into vertical thirds, on each dividing line there is a town. In the town on my side of the map, I have driven out some commie infantry that were trying to flank my Pershings that are just outside the northern end of town.
There are even more dead MC troops, if that is possible.
hellcat is pounding my rear area (ouch:p ) with 160mm Mortars. Thats right, 160mm!

Morale has been restored... with the killing of two (count em!) Pershings!
Something of a firefight is developing in the far South along the road. Some US Inf are dug in and there are Pershings nearby...
A firefight is also erupting in the main town where Goblin's Pershings are still sitting on the heights to the North of it. Goblin has invested it with plenty of Infantry it seems and we are nibbling at him as arty begins to rain down onto the buildings there.
The fighting is starting to get dirty

You're in for it now, Mr!
hellcat has quite a force on the south road (which runs east-west), and I blasted it with arty. Several T44's and TD's are near that north town, and I let them have it too. Did you plant mines, hellcat? I have a hex of mines on my side of the board all of a sudden!
My four deuce crews are being replaced. Twenty three rounds at a hex, not one IN the hex.

two more Perhings go up in smoke...

hey you spill that can whoopass or what?
we're finding Goblin to be dug in pretty well down along that Southern road, plus we spotted some kind of monster armor in the town itself!
fighting in the woods North of town is erupting, around the smoking Pershings and also further North. We're pressing him hard but he has lots of armour left as well as AT Guns sighted

Now I gotta open the whole six pack. Tssssst. One. Tssssst. Two. Tssssst. Three. Tssssst. Four. Wait! You're only the Commies, I probably opened too many already!;)
It's SOOOOO on now! You come with war on these peaceful country dwellers, then harm their valiant defenders? Take some, Commie!

Now its time for the Russian tanks to die. hellcat seems unfamiliar with the T95 105mm GMC. I'm introducing him.
hellcats arty that round (160mm Mortars!) killed and dipersed a lot of infantry. My troops are crying. This is due to laughter! All of those dead troops, and most of them Soviet! See what happens when you give chocolates!
I'm on the move. He killed a hellcat. Isn't that fratricide (sp?) or something?
We will hear the lamentation of your women folk before nightfall of this dour day!

i really hate having to kill hellcats
It looks like a considerable armored battle is about to kick off all over the map. After having the luxury of dominating a lot of the map it seems I'm going to be forced to give quite a lot of it up again as Goblin's armour moves forward. Those huge monster tanks really scare me... I had a bazooka (captured) pop out and blast away at the rear of one. no dice. I did manage to immobilise another Pershing though but am not scared of them anymore! There are also a few 90mm AT guns popping up.
Even though we've been playing a while so far it only feels like it's all about to happen now...
I have purchased some cans of 'whoopaski'
