Two Humans versus computer

Post by mjm »

Can someone advise me how to setup play so that 2 Humans can play one country against the computer in a 3 player game. Thank you. Jon M

Pretty simple, set it up in a normal 1 vs the computer. Make an agreement with your partner on who controls what. Then play as normal when you've made your moves ( do not choose end turn), then save your game and email to your partner, when your partner is completed with their turn he/she chooses the end turn option, then emails it back to you.

Of course, the AI has a hard enough time against one opponent. I hope the two of you don't expect a challenging game. :p

2 player against computer

Hey mjm.

I have done this occasionally when I want to play a scenario with my Dad. I'm still bringing him along slowly into the SPWAW world, and so things tend to work better when I play with him as opposed to against him.

I've used the editor to go into the scenarios I want to play with him and then use the F3 key in the deploy screen to set up the 3rd player for the same side as player 1.

To play together, though, we have to play a network game and the turns are timed for a max of 3 minutes. We haven't done it much, so I'm not an expert. I don't know how to do it with a PBEM.

Hope this helps.

The trick is not to end the game at the end of the first Human player's turn. Use the up arrow to save the game to play later, then send the files to the second human player. After moving the second half of the turn, end the turn normally and the AI will move. Rinse and repeat.

During the purchase only one human player will be able to buy units, since you can't save before the deploy screen. Decide in advance what your forces will be and who controls what. Deploy half, save and send; deploy the other human's forces and either save and send or move the first half then save and send.

This is also how you do a multi-player email between three or more human players and is discussed somewhere on the forum -- I think it's in one of the Market Garden threads.
