carry capacity?!

hi everyone! ,-)
i currently try to make a "market garden"-campaign and ive got 2 newbie questions to the community:

1.: is there a possibility to edit the "carry capacity" and the "carry cost" for units, or are they hard coded? especially for ammo dumps or ammo mule-packs.

2.:is it possible to create (redesign from aboves examples) some parachutable ammopacks to drop em like paratroopers?

if one/both points are to complicated to modify for usual gamers like me, i would be happy to inform the designers of the game about this idea and maybe be part of a future version. so if someone can get in touch with a designer, please let me know!
big thanks in advance, friends!

Sounds like you need ammo canisters from Norwegian OOB. Set date to 12/49 when purchasing, change nation to Norway and there you have weight 2 ammo canisters.

Also if you want to 'overload' units for setup purposes you can first load the carrier unit with lighter units. Then change the carried units to whatever you like. Once unloaded you cannot load them back but it's not always necessary..

Aquestion to support your question??!!I know the british had the Adrian jeep for the Para's but nothing is mentioned about the trailer it and the FAT QUAD both had as regular equipment, and reading some on the B.E.F. in 39/40 they used to put extra towed weapon ammo in it if they were towing a 2ld'er say. Also didn't they have a handcart of a sort John Wayne gets a ride on one in The Longest Day with the 101st?
I've loaded a 25mm ATG into a univ.carrier and then loaded that into a Hadrian glider ussually full of Trenchark tanks, the weight works but haven't tried other Nations much.

The jeep with trailer you mention is in the game as is the Quad FAT truck.
There is no handcart, but what use would it be?

Hey Major there is so a handcart but I found it an accessery to the british para's for the Minibike recce's goin in on D-Day, they found that with the way that most of their drop fields had been flooded that they mad exellent hand dollies for ammo and crew served weapons and occasionally as litters for wounded.
Dimentions: 3'6"wide by 4'10" long, two air filled garden tractor sized tires and a 3 foot telescoping T-bar type handle. Which could be left folded and latched to the back of minibike.
U also asked what they were used for, carrying the resupply cannisters some weighd 500lds when full of ammo.U're not gonna hike that onto your shoulder!ALLthou one of the Para's in "A bridge too far" manages to P/U one full of Barrets.

Tryin this again, how many got mass kicked from forums just now? Sept. 11 2004 10:39 saskatoon time wnet from 200 and something down to 48 users???
Anyways rewriting my post to Patho, Wondering when u think u'll have something playable in this Market Garden camp. for the rest of us to try, and if u believe as well that if they had taken a bit more stuff, troops, and maybe some long range radio's that worked that Arnheim wouldn't have been a bridge too far? Shouldda dropped Trenchark tanks with the Polish the first night!.....RT

Hey Major there is so a handcart .........

But not in the game. There are "ammo bearers" for scenario design in the Norway OOB and these may be asumed to be using a hand cart if you like for modelling purposes.

Ammo canisters have a carry cost of 2 or equivalent to 2 men with equipment. These are not perfectly modelled as they give unlimited supply of ammunition of every type and description including flame gun fuel. When playing the game or creating scenarios, a certain level of incredulity and of creative imagination must be considered to be essential.

yep there´s some PDF file in the root SPWAW folder describing the units in norway OOB. Don´t miss this one![;)]

I thin that if we had given th paras better communications equipment more supplies and hadproperley supported them the mission could have been a success the british paratroopers held one side of the bridge for some time and with the bravery of men like Maj. Kain [sp] who held a section of a perimeter outside a field hospital basically alone firing so many projectiles from his PIAT that his ears bled that the mission would not have been so disastrous

Just a question, in that why didn't the Allies(knowing the sad performance of the PIAT from Capt. Whites post)and that the Americans where in the neiborhood waiting near Niemeggen Bridge for British canvas assalt boats I believe. they should have integrated more shared equip. If the Trooper Capt White mentioned would have had the added range, and subtler firing charicteristics of a Bazzoka he'd have probably done better!! RT

i have no idea possibly it would have took longer to reequip the troops with other weapons and that the Piat was possibly cheaper/lighter you would have to ask the armourers of the day that question i think it was more likly that it would have taken alot longer to reequip the troops. i have no idea but perhaps they would also have had to retrain the troops with the new weapons?
