WitP?AE reject wants to know....

Post by madgamer2 »

I am willing to admit that WitP and AE are just to much for this old brain to deal with. I have read all the forum threads here and I am thinking about buying this one but have to wait to make sure is not a backlash kind of reaction from not being able to put the time, effort or brain power needed to play the entire Pacific war 1 day at a time basis and micromanage down to the single man, gun, tank, whatever.
I gather it has been out for awhile and from the looks of the forum there are a number of regular players but they never tell you how well it is selling. I think you will never get them AE players out of that game I mean its become a way of life for some which is cool if that what you want to do with most of your spare time. I am retired and have a life and I don't have the time.
My real concern is I am starting to hear the "PBEM is the only Way" thing again which is what drove many players away from the WitP/AE forums. They seemed to treat us players who want to play against the AI as some kind of low life. To cut to the chase how bad/good/fair is the AI?
I think I will wait a bit before buying as I do not have a lot of money at the moment bit will in a month. I will try the demo but i hold little stock in them for getting people to buy a game or in showing how good the game is. I also want to wait for the next patch. One thing more will the patch's be comprehensive or have to be applied like Witp..ie one at a time and in order.

thanks all could see you in a month..... keep sailing!

No, just one patch and if you buy online... I believe the patch is already in the DL.

Patch 1.03 is alrady out. Of course PBEM is far superior!

You will like this as after you play a few moves or play the game for the first ten moves you will learn the ropes and the time it takes to do a move is very short.

So ... that means fun to play and you can still have a life.

There is a demo so you can grab it and try.
There is Okinawa scenario included and also few months of Pacific Campaign.

I think it's enough to get a good image about the gameplay. Hate it or love it :)
