Campaign

Team Assault: Baptism of Fire is a 3D turn-based tactical game where players take command of infantry squads to engage the enemy in intense close combat. Although the combat system is turn-based, the game play can be as fast paced and dynamic as you'd like. Dynamic turns, counter actions and continual feedback keep you constantly engaged while still giving you enough time to make important decisions to change the course of battle!

Campaign

Is there one? I've been keeping an eye on this, but am too broke at the moment to be a guinea pig, so would appreciate impressions.

My understanding is that there is no campaign, but that one may be planned for a future update or expansion.

Good point about the guinea pig comment. I'm not too broke, I'm just done being a guinea pig tester. If there is not a campaign then I'll pass on this one.

No campaign? This is fairly sad news. I have been eagerly awaiting this game, and I hope I'm not disappointed.

So, what does it have in lieu of a campaign? Are there scenarios? Or is it just multiplayer?

Hi all I'm sorry but there is no campaign. This game is more built like a board game one side against the other. But I think you can find countless of hours of play finding the right strategy on a skirmish map against the AI or building you custom force. (I know I have :) )

I've looked at every site I posted above and from what I see, this is a pretty nice game. Campaign or not, it looks very promising.

The game looks intriguing but I think I'll save my cash for Conflict of Heroes especially since ToW and boardgaming are taking up attention...Perhaps I'll come back to this one once I played out CoH, for as the saying goes, too many games, not enough time....

We were hoping to have a single player campaign in the game at first release but it just proved to be too big a task so the decision was made to reduce the price to $19.99 and save a simngle player campaign for an add on of some sort. We feel at $19.99 this is a lot of game for your money!

That's a respectable way of doing it. [&o] It is a lot of game for the price.

Iain,

When I saw that $19.99 price, it was a red flag (i.e. a cheap/shallow game) for me. Thanks for the explanation on pricing. I will be picking this game up soon.

I was slightly disappointed when the final decision came down to have no campaign….. but only very slightly.
Don’t get me wrong – I still want a campaign to make its way in to TA on some future release – very much so. But there is so much here without it, you don’t miss it that much.
You can spend so much time just in the Force Builder trying to get that perfect fighting unit and never get in to the game itself.
:)
And then once you are in the game. . . . .endless.
