Reinforcements:  AR Shinnin Maru (Osaka), AR Satsuki Maru (Osaka), 87 Naval Guard (SE Fleet)

Old damage claimed an Allied AK as well as a Japanese AK and AP.  In addition, an Allied ASW TF hit the I-22 with a depth charge causing light damage (21-10-0).

At Noumea, the 14 Army HQ landed.  I'll give them a little time to increase the prep for Noumea before I attack.  It's currently at 20.

Faber took Cebu, taking 444 Allied prisoners to no Japanese casualties.  I took the undefended Ndeni.

The Chinese attacked me at Pucheng, losing 373 Chinese to 29 Japanese.

Bruce landed a NLF (or SNLF) at Moulmein.  Yesterday, the 55 Div was at 59 miles and should have moved into the hex today.  When we checked today, it was now at 39 miles.  Damn glitch.  Oh well, we'll see what happens tomorrow there.

Operations continue.  We had a MSW blown to smithereens by 3 500 lb. bombs from a Blenheim and had a PG, 2 APs and an AK damaged.

The Japanese assaulted Rangoon for little effect.  The fort level remained at 4 and we lost 1665 troops to 1305 Allied troops.

Likewise, the Allies assaulted us at Moulmein for little effect.  We lost 180 troops to 121 Allied troops.

Today we received the Yamato!  She's on her way to support Bruce in Australia.

One of our Helens on recon duty found the Dutch sub KXII and planted a 250 kg egg on her, sending her to a watery grave.  In return, we had an AP and AK damaged from a mine and the sub Rover, respectively.

On the ground, not much other than the loss of life on both sides occurred.

Rangoon was bombarded by a total of 4 BBs and 3 CAs, causing 1294 casualties.  Later, Rangoon was assaulted by the Japanese causing a whopping 65 Japanese casualties to 176 Allied casualties.  The fort level remained at 4.

The Allies attacked again in Moulmein, causing 25 Japanese casualties to 29 Allied.

In Noumea, I attacked again.  The fort level there remained at 7.[8|] We lost 1288 troops to 467 Allied casualties.  I still lack the strength to take it.  Faber has allocated an engineer regiment (from the SRA) an infantry brigade (from Kwantung) that are on their way south.  This is going to take awhile. [:(]

We landed troops on Dumaguete.

Reinforcements:  AK Stashima Maru at Osaka, 140 IJN BF at Tokyo

Quiet day today.  We lost an AP and AK to old damage and had another AP damaged from a mine.

We took Dumaguete and Bruce landed more troops at Moulmein.

Boela's airfield increased to level 2 and Kavieng's port reached level 3.

More destruction on the high seas.  We didn't have any ships sunk, but we had a DD, 7 AKs and an AP damaged from aircraft or mines.

Bacolod was taken by the Rowboat Corps.  Bruce landed additional troops at Moulmein and assaulted Rangoon again.  The fort level remained at 4 and we lost 1539 troops to 1788 Allied troops.

More one-sided destruction on the seas.  The Pike sank an AK and another AK sank from old damage.  In addition, an AV and 4 AKs took damage from various things.

Bruce continued to land troops at Moulmein and bombarded Rangoon by sea causing damage to over 5000 troops, 82 guns and 9 vehicles.

The Skipjack put torpedoes into 2 different APs today. [:@]

Bruce landed still more troops at Moulmein.  He has a truly massive army at Rangoon and Moulmein.  The writing is on the wall there.  I think Bob made a serious mistake thinking he could hold out at those two bases.  If he runs or is pushed out, Bruce's forces will be able to hound him all the way through Burma.

I have forces moving west out of Hangchow/Shanghai.  My goal is to clear the SE part of China of the pesky Chinese that are all over the place.  I pushed out a Chinese corps from the hex west of Hangchow, causing 238 Allied casualties to 233 Japanese casualties.  The nice thing about this is that 22 Chinese guns were damaged/destroyed.  I'm always looking for high Chinese gun losses.  I suspect that they can't replace them easily.  The Chinese Yellow Horde that attacked toward Shanghai with 800 guns early in the war moved west again with less than 600 guns remaining.  All they did was to delay my advance.  There are a gazillion Chinese in this mod though.  They're everywhere! [:D]

Bruce attacked Rangoon again.  He finally reduced the fort level to 3!  For 1180 Japanese casualties, he caused 2450 Allied casualties.

And before you ask Mike, yeah I'm all caught up again. [:'(]

I am subscribed to this thread, so I see the updates pretty quickly.  I have a great interest in seeing this CHS game progress, not just because my friends are battling it out, but also because Mynok and I are following in your footsteps.  We're currently at March 10 or 11th.

Action still happening at Rangoon and Moulmein.  Bruce continues to land troops at both locations and the Allied scum continues to bomb our merchant fleet. [:@] We had 5 AKs damaged from Allied bombers and had one AK sink from old damage and another sunk from the Skipjack.

Bob is pulling his forces out of Rangoon and Moulmein.  I'm sure Bruce will attack and take both bases.  The race for Burma is on! [:D]

I had some time this past weekend to think about the game.  It's been a long time and I knew I had to tweak some things.

There are 4 bases that have substantial damage to oil and/or resource centers:

Base - Damaged resources - Damaged oil

Balikpapan - 316 - 380
Batavia - 32 - 0
Soerabaja - 154 - 33
Kuala Lumpur - 110 - 0

That's over a million supply to repair, but if you look at it month by month, it's much less daunting.  It'll cost about 150k the first month dropping off to 60k a month by month 6.  Not too bad, really.

We're going to pull about 10k a month from Tarakan.  Saigon, Bangkok and Palembang will provide 140k over 4 months.  Japan will provide 110k the first month, 80k for the next 4 months and then 50k a month until complete, in about a year total.

On to aircraft production.  I doubled the R&D for Tonys and Tojos to about 68-72 each.  Tojos enter production in Jul 42 and Tonys in Aug 42.  The Oscars (currently 144 in production) will upgrade to Tonys, bringing their production to about 200 per month.  The Kawasaki engines are producing 150 engines per month with 625 in the pool.  There should be about 1000 Kawasaki engines in the pool when Tonys enter production.  That will give us about 1.5 years to increase Kawasaki production to match Tony production.

When the Oscars upgrade, whatever engine they use (can't remember offhand) will decrease by 144 per month.

I want to increase the Tojos to over 100 per month.  Instead of increasing their single factory again, I'm going to convert an 8 plane Val factory to Tojo and increase production to about 48.  The reason I'm using this factory is because there is also a 50 plane Val factory whose production I just shut off.  There are over 300 Vals in the pool.  Likewise, I shut off the Kate production due to over 300 Kates in the pool too.

I turned back on a 40 engine Mitsubishi factory to increase the pool a little quicker.  Overall, this is a net gain in HI per turn into the pool.  Tonight when I go home, I'll calculate the actual numbers for you.

Things are looking good on the production front. [:D]

For now. [;)]

Reinforcements:  204 Fighter Sentai (Nate) for Southern Area Army, I-11 (Camranh Bay) headed to the Central Pacific

Success!  Rangoon and Moulmein fell today.  We lost a total of 146 casualties to 1573 Allied casualties.  Unfortunately, the resource and oil centers took substantial damage.  It really doesn't matter much in the end because the Allies are going to bomb them into the stone age.

Rangoon:
Oil - 16 (24) with 17813 in the at the base
Resources - 62 (38) with 17923 at the base
HI - 15 (9)
Manpower 2 (1)

Moulmein:
Resources - 0 (100)

Needless to say, none of the above will be repaired.

We lost the AK Junpo Maru (recently renamed "The Mine Magnet") went down at Rangoon to, you got it, a mine.  We lost 2 additional AKs to old damage and had an AK and MSW damaged in the Rangoon/Moulmein area.

Our Betties and Nells ranging out of Pt. Moresby found and sank a TF composed of 2 AKs 3 hexes east of Cooktown.  Not sure what they were doing there....

Wyndham's airfield reached level 4.  Now Bruce can base level bombers there to support his invasion of Darwin.

Elsewhere, we landed troops at Nias Island.  Also, the Chinese attacked our base at Pucheng and were repulsed losing 672 men to 75 Japanese troops.

"And in other news, the Japanese bombed two science vessels researching the Great Barrier Reef near Cooktown. Two men who were diving at the time survived. In a later interview, Dirk Pitt claimed there was ample signs of civilian-only activity. 'Surely the Japanese dont think troop transports hang scuba gear off the fantail and float scuba buoys around while they sit anchored out in the open.'

The Japanese claim they were stealing secrets from a sunken Japanese submarine."

With the liberation of Rangoon and Moulmein, Bruce organizes his substantial forces to move inland and capture the rest of Burma.

Old damage cost us a PC and AK today.  In addition, another AK and a sub were damaged.

The Allies already began the resource bombing campaign of Rangoon, costing us 6 resource centers.  Bruce is in the process of transferring air support and Fighters to Rangoon to stave off the enemy B-17s.

Elsewhere, the cowardly Allies continue with their dastardly plans.  They dropped off a couple of squads of Australians on Nias Island (dot base off the coast of Summatra) and took it.  We'll soon add a few squads of Australians to our POW camps. [:'(]

Faber suggested I attack in Noumea on a regular basis even though I lack the strength to take it.  He thinks (and I concur) that constant attacks will hurt them more than us since we have plenty of supply and open supply lines while their supply is finite and dwindling.  This attack cost us 1545 casualties to 539 Allied casualties.  Their fort level remains at 7.  I intend to attack every 2-3 days depending on fatigue levels.

Edit: Manila's airfield reached level 5 and Attu's airfield reached level 3.
