When using the editor, how do I change a unit's (or formation) commanding HQ? E.g. I have a Mech Coy that I want to subordinate to a Tank Bn

Cheers

Bruce,

I'd like to say there is an easy way in this version of the game but I do have a work around that appears to do the trick. In the new game we are working on the tree allows for drag and drop attachments making what you want a breeze. A few months to wait on that. In the mean time do the following:
1. Fill out the units you want for both the NATO and WP forces.
2. Go to the Master Unit List
3. Locate the Higher HQ unit you want to attach your lower formation too.
4. In the Parent Name column, double click the name to highlight it and then right click on it and select copy.
5. Scroll down the list until you hit the HQ of the unit you wish to attach (or and unit really) then double click that Parent Name and right click it and select paste.
6. Click another cell to unfocus the pasted cell.
7. Now go back to the NATO or WP or both Force selection screens and Select a unit (the top most works), right click, select the Refresh option.
8. Review the listing to see that your attachment has worked.
9. Finish the rest of the scenario work and save it.
10. Enjoy!

I hope this makes sense and also works for you. I just did a qucik test myself and it appears to work. Let me know how it turns out.

Capn Darwin,

Aye, this does the trick. Ta muchly. Now if only we had a Master unit list in the Ad-hoc generator.

Bruce,

Good to hear that it works. I use the full editor for about everything. The Ad-Hoc is nice but really lacks a few tools to really make and edit something new. We should, if all goes well, be posting info on the new games in a few weeks. We are still getting final artwork and data done and also debugging and tweaking code right now. So stay tuned in!
