Stupid question/s

Hired Guns: The Jagged Edge is a turn-based strategy that puts you command of a squad of specialists for hire in the genre’s biggest game-world yet: the African country Diamond Coast. Diamond Coast is a playground for the cruel and corrupt, each with their own agenda. Choose your friends wisely and buy an army of ruthless mercenaries to unleash mayhem on your foes. Choose “jobs” from different factions and complete them for cash to upgrade your weapons and hire more elite soldiers of fortune.

Stupid question/s

Post by Hard Sarge »

how do you use the 40mm under barrel launcher ?

for Matrix, is there going to be more work done on fixing the game, or is the last patch about it ?

40mm is worthless, as is, it needs to be a Grenade Launcher, not a rifle

Grenades are pretty worthless, with out the strength to throw them anywhere, you close enough to throw it, use a pistol, it is better

player AP, be nice to have enough to fire twice, would like to have at least the same amount that the AI gets (maybe use that are part of the diff level difference)

Ammo cost, stupid, the weapon is importent, not the ammo, if nothing else, raise the cost of buying the fancy weapons, but lower the cost of ammo

LOS, come on, if I can see you, I can hit you, too many times, you can see you have a clean LOS to the target but the guy can't see it, fire at it, and he nows sees the target

also, too many times, you can see something you can't shoot (if I can see you, I can put a gunsight on you)

AIMMING, if I a aimming at your leg, let me hit you in the leg ? these guys are suppost to at least have some training in weapons (I just had a pretty 140 point head shot, too bad I was aimming at the guys leg with a sniper, and good sniper rifle)

Weapons, go over the weapons and take away all of the high recoil statements and penaties, weapons with High Recoil, fine, but alot of these are designs that do not have high recoil

The only stupid question is the one not asked;)

I love the grenade launchers. There is a button where you choose single/burst that you use. Make sure the gun is loaded with a grenade and the button will be enabled. They do a lot of damage and if you lure the enemy in to a bottle-neck they are priceless.

As for your other questions I leave them to others to answer.
Good luck mate

I think part of the AP problem is the amount of points that get refreshed it set. My created Merc normaly has 20 a round. If I leave her sit for a round she'll end up with 25... I've been pokeing around the scripts but I can't find anything about AP recovery. Only the costs.

LOS is a big issue. I was kneeling on the run way of the airport and had 3 tangos running up the runway at me and they were grey targets. My merc wouldn't fire because they couldn't see them.. they get worse eye sight then me it seems. But I forced them to fire and they landed 3 solid hits. I just order them to shoot I don't care what the game tells me half the time I hit them.

It also seems all the Assault rifles are the same. I haven't noticed anything differant about them, They all have almost the same damage and range. Is there any differance other then stylings or do those pros and cons really mean something? If so what do they mean and how do they effect game play?

Sniper rifles still seem very inaccurate for the job they should be doing. I seem to miss at least half my shots while prone, I'm aiming center mass. Anyone know just how much of a help aiming is? What the rangeing negatives are.. anything?

What does your Mercs level do? Beyond make them more expensive. Any effect at all on gameplay?

Much Love,

that is one I keep forgetting to ask, what good is level ?, it don't change anything stat wise, only cost as far as I can see

odd, to be honest, looks like best firing postion is standing up, kneeling is a little worse and prone is the worse (which may all be LOS issues, but if you standing, you can look over top most of the little dips and leaves that block your sight when prone)

The last patch is not "about it" and I don't see where we've given any indication that it would be.

The 40mm grenade is powerful when you hit with it.  Only problem is that its trajectory is wrong.   It fires like a rocket or rifle bullet instead of lobbing in realistically.   It is also very innacurate.   These factors somewhat limit its use.  I have often found that a merc of 75 or better strength is almost better off using regular grenades.  Dynamite is the ultimate if you can afford it.  A strong character like Bizon or Shaman with dynamite can really do some damage.  Strengh directly relates to how far you can throw a grenade.  I once took out 4 heavy armored soldiers with one stick of dynamite from Shaman.   If you start a new game post patch, all mercs have higher strength, which helps immensely.  My personal merc always has the max starting strength of 85.

The one thing I really don't like is the RPG's.   They are really heavy and innacurate.  They also take an enormous amount of AP to fire.   I sort of gave up on them and limited myself to the 40mm slung under an M4A1 for artillery support.

The developers are on holiday now, but when they return they are going to continue working on the reported crash issues. Basically, we expect all the serious/critical issues to be fixed as long as they can be duplicated. I don't expect we're going to get any new features added, outside of data/script changes, but there should be more fixes.

Thanks

guess the question now is, can we get them to see the Issues as being errors/bugs instead of WAD or just poor thinking on how things should work

:)
