Is it my breath?

Hired Guns: The Jagged Edge is a turn-based strategy that puts you command of a squad of specialists for hire in the genre’s biggest game-world yet: the African country Diamond Coast. Diamond Coast is a playground for the cruel and corrupt, each with their own agenda. Choose your friends wisely and buy an army of ruthless mercenaries to unleash mayhem on your foes. Choose “jobs” from different factions and complete them for cash to upgrade your weapons and hire more elite soldiers of fortune.

Is it my breath?

Post by SlickWilhelm »

I've started three different games now, but I've yet to be able to get Lin, Dump, Fisher or Vampire to agree to work for me. Is it because I typically tailor my alter-ego character Slick Wilhelm to be high in Str, Dex and Agi, and low in leadership & wisdom?

Or is it my breath, or my man-boobs? Maybe my hairy back?

Sheesh, they sure know how to give a Merc leader a complex! [:D]

some of them want some one who has been around, others don't like who you have on your team already

Smithy likes to say, what have you ever done ?

win a few battles and you should be able to get them

Do the mercs liking or disliking each other have effects once they are already in your squad?

I have a couple mercs that say weird crap to each other back and forth.

Examples Yamashy the japanese sniper doesnt like the other elite sniper Forester. When I hired him he said, "The sons of Yamato will not rub dirt on their faces." Also his brother said something like, "Forester, man I hope Yamashy doesnt see him."

Just curious if its going to effect morale or cause one or the other team member to leave eventually?

Also everytime Shaman says something when his level or a state increases Gunner says something like, "They didnt value him in his homeland..."

I hired Dagger and 105 said something derogatory about his mental health.

Lin, Dump, Fisher or Vampire - I played my game for the fourth tme now and sometimes I was able to hire Vampire and sometimes not. I think it's random from the start. I have a Lin an CC (without Peter) in my squad and nothing went wrong so far...

I think it's a combo of some of these factors: your leadership/personality/battles won maybe income or territory owned too.
Just because I aint sayin' it doesn't mean I'm not thinkin' it.
