Well, if you have the game, then it's in section 7 of the manual...

Now, now Termie. No need for that.

#-#-#
First number up to (and not including) the 2nd number on an attack roll will cause 1 stress on the pilot from a near miss. From the 2nd number up to the 3rd = damage (Aircraft drops all ordnance and pilot gets 2 Stress). 3rd number or higher = pilot shot down.

'R'
The black 'R' in the white box means the site is radar-controlled and you can target them with the corresponding weapons with the same box in them (AGM-45/88).

+/- #
The bonus or penalty applied to your weapons fire on this specific unit.

Red arrow up/Green arrow down/Boxed number
This is the firing capabilites of the site/bandit. The boxed number is it's range in adjacent boxes on the action display. Red arrow indicates it can fire at pilots at high altitude while they're within it's range, and the green arrow is the same but for low altitude.

Yep. I HIGHLY recommend everyone who's gets Hornet Leader to press the ? button on every screen they haven't been to yet. The manual has most of the same stuff, but by doing it screen by screen, it's a nice refresher and also seems to sink in deeper. For me personally, the method used by these help screens clicked with me really well and changed my squadron around from being parachute riders to competent Hornet drivers.
