Is there an End Game?

One aspect of this game so far is that I do not feel pressed for time...As the war rages, I am just wondering if you take too long accomplishing missions and such, is there a point where you might find that the game is over due to a factions vistory? I just do not feel any pressure in doing tasks quicky..for example, if I head to a wormhole but then see a few treasures pop up, I'll take the extra time to go collect them, but in constantly doing that, am I risking losing the "end game" if in fact there is one?

I suppose it ends when one faction is in control. But I don't know how that happens because I read somewhere that the factions home systems are unconquerable. I have gone through the ranks twice, and even got my own planet (which doesn't seem to mean anything). It did not look like any one faction was going to dominate. So I really don't know how the game ends.

How many days have you had the game now vonRocko? Seems you got through it pretty quickly.

Hey, killroyishere what´s exactly the problem? You don´t even have the game and still try to comment negatively on the end-game content and the game in general in about almost every thread of this forum. Could it be that this is somewhat related to your signature?

In answer to the thread starter:
The game ends when you either retire because of your character gets too old or your faction controls about 2/3 of space. To control this amount of systems you will have to get a battleship and conquer other systems. There is also a fleet battle mode, which - what killroyishere will tell you otherwise shortly, although he never played the game - is mostly generic, but still more than any other space trading game offers.
