1936 Brooklyn Dodgers

In 1935 the Tigers defeated the Cubs 4 games to 2 in the World Series. The Dodgers finished 5th in the NL (70-83). Casey Stengel is fired, and I take over as both field manager and GM.
The Dodgers are an average team. We have two promising players: 1B Buddy Hassett and P Van Mungo. We will rebuild around them. I look around for young, eager players, and focus on a few to pursue.
The Yankees have a young rookie OF who is highly regarded but has a reputation of being prone to injury. I contact their GM, and offer CF Freddie Lindstrom, a proven veteran who has been around. They are thrilled with the deal, so 22-year-old OF Joe DiMaggio drives across town to our office. I interview him, and he assures me that he's ready to play.
We then trade OF Eddie Wilson, a good defenseman with a weak bat, to the White Sox for P Bill Dietrich. Dietrich enters our bullpen as a possible spot-starter.
Next, we send RHP Dutch Leonard to the Senators in exchange for LHP Ken Chase. Chase is 23 years old and has high potential, but has control problems. He is also assigned to the bullpen.
Finally, we ship C Sid Gautreaux to the Giants in exchange for P Freddie Fitzsimmons. Fitzsimmons becomes our 4th starter.
Several teams are interested in Van Mungo, but I refuse to let him go.
In the minors, we have three decent prospects: OF Dick Siebert (AAA), P Harry Eisenstat (AAA) and SS Johnny Hudson (AA).
