Screen Resolution

I have bought HOI2 and was VERY dissappointed that the screen resolution is locked at 1024x762. What resolutions does this run at? Is it locked?
The reason I didn't check was because I've never came across "locked" screen resolutions in games until very recently...which seems bizarre being as computers and graphics adapters are getting more and more powerful!
