I tried installing a store bought copy of UFO but the disk simply spin and spin in my DVD drive. Since Vista comes with my brand new XPS laptop, there is no way I could dump Vista and install XP without losing out on Dell's tech support!

All hardware drivers are current and the UFO disk ran just fine on my other XP Pro OS computers.

Can someone help me with this?

Happend to me as well Im not running vista but XP. Try and disconnect internet it worked for me.

I have that very problem right now, but I have no alternate computers to run it on.  I know my computer meets specs, if I could get the disc to be recognized, I could get it to run.  I don't see how disconnecting the internet solved his problem, i tried it anyway and of course it didnt solve mine.  Any tech support people know what to do?

We don't support the Retail DVD version, but it sounds like there's a common issue here. It seems unlikely that you would all have bad CDs.

My only suggestion would be to give it time as another poster mentioned it taking 30 minutes to start up on his.

Try turning off all anti-virus and security software before you put the disk in to make sure something isn't trying to scan the huge installer file before allowing it to run.
