Playing again

I decided to play this for a while in my spare time. Can anyone tell me what are some of the best scenarios in the game? It looks like many may be one sided- which isn't a problem- as long as they are interesting. I just don't want to romp around with not challenge...

The few that I have played recently seemed somewhat dull. What scenarios make the system shine?

I could, but then it wouldn't answer my question, unless of course they are all dull... [:D]

All the scenarios I've tried are pretty well balanced, and they can be adjusted anyway. Not sure what you mean.

To be honest if you found the scenarios dull then maybe the game isn't for you. Thats why people are having a probelm suggesting other scenarios for you. If you found any dull then you probably find them all dull to be hoenst.

I take it then one scenario is as good as another?

There wasn't one after you finished you said- that was fun! That's all I am really looking for.

Its a bit hard to tell without playing many of them and then finding that gem to play several times.

If you've got the game patched, two new scenarios will appear in the list:

Bir el Gubi
The Clash of Armor.

You should give those a try.

And on al Gobi, try to defend with confident Balotta..[:'(]
I just don't want to romp around with not challenge

You will surtenly find a challange,,[8D]

P.S. All the desert scns have magick in them.. its just another dimension for COTA
(And to be honest, that is the thing, wich truly delying my purchase of BFTb)

I can realy recomand Brevity.. You have a full scale ofenssive there to manage (with great placement of objectives).. You can get toughest expierience by excluding 6thRTR and 4 RHA for the Brits.

A pure taste of Africa Corps You can get Gabr Saleh: Brazen Chariots

You have options to pick for Your critical eyes

I found the smaller crete scenarios fun. Can't remember the names of the scenarios though. There are about three scenarios where your I think two or three battalions of FJ.

I aways found the smaller low unti count scenarios the best as you can get to grips with the game more and I foudn it was a more rewarding experience as you could really concentrate on the main fighting without having to jump all around the map and get a little disorientated on exactly whats going on.

So my advice find the smaller low unti count scenarios...doesn't really matter about the length of the scenario just go a a low unit count.

The main problem you may find with CotA is not really knowing much about the battles. I always find the more first hand memiors Ive read or even overall historical battle accounts the more immersed I am in the game. I can visualise what Ive read with whats going on and can associate with the units better, especially if I've read a soldiers account and I can see his unit. Band of Brothers is a good basis for the Bulge game there is a scenario of the actual fighting thats shown in the series around Bastogne. This is one scenario I will play first I imagine as I know I will get deeply immersed.

I prefer the scenarios that are lopsided, such as First Clean Break. If I'm looking to run a blitzkrieg, it gives me the chance. If I want a desperate delaying action, I choose the Allied side. Either way, these are highly mobile fights with a lot of tense decisions.
