MM mistified

Post by Merv0728 »

Has the 'Layer Effects/Data been disabled in MM ? I am unable to access it as it is always greyed out.

Also how do you set contours above 75 meters ?

Thanks
Alan

Very odd indeed. Can you show us a screen dump of this? When does it occur? Is it repeatable on your machine? Does it occur on a new map you are making? Does it occur if you edit an existing map - copy an existing map, open it in MM and see if the layer data is greyed out?
Also how do you set contours above 75 meters ?

There is a limit of fifteen contour layers, plus the default or base alt layer - ie a total of 16. I recommend before you start your map, work out the min and max altitudes you need to cover. Then divide this by 16 and round up to the nearest contour interval depicted on the map you are copying. Eg let's say you want to cover the altitudes between 30 and 240 - ie 210m. Divide by 16 = 13.125m. Your underlay map has ten metre contours. So round up to 20m and start from the 20m rather than 30m altitude. You will then need 12 layers ( 11 + base ) - ie 20, 40, 60, 80, 100, 120, 140, 160, 180, 200, 220 and 240m.

Does that help?

Alan, have you selected a terrain type from the column to the left, not an altitude layer, but a type, such as highway, town or orchard?

Hello P of E, thanks for your reply & for solving the issue. A case of RTFM. I even printed the MM help manual & read it through a couple of times but I suppose it just didn't click, going senile I expect.

Thanks again.

We have it slotted in with Matix for a pre Thanksgiving release....subject, of course, to us being able to sign off by the end of October.
