Reconnaissance of this area will be in 2 phases as marked by red dotted lines on map.

Phase 1 (D1): Occupation of Hammerville, Southtown and Anville.

Phase 2 (D1): Occupation of Yellow River South Bridge and Plierville.

Phase 3 (D1): Occupation of all Yellow River bridges leading to Middletown and bridge south of Sawville.

Phase 4 (D2): Occupation of Sawville and Easttown.

1.9 orders: Seize and hold Hammerville.

2.9 orders: Seize and hold Anville.

1.9, 4.9, 9AT and 9HQ orders: Seize and hold Southtown.

3.9 orders: Limited reconnaissance just west of Yellow River South Bridge.

2.9 orders: Seize and hold Plierville.

1.9 orders: Seize and hold Yellow River South Bridge.

4.9, 9AT and 9HQ orders: Deploy on center road to enable support of 2.9 and 1.9.

2.9 orders: Seize and hold bridges east of Middletown.

1.9 orders: Seize and hold bridge west of Middletown.

Attack on Middletown

1.9 is primary attacking unit with 4.9, 9AT and 9HQ supporting.

2.9 will only join attack if stronger enemy defence than expected.

3.9 orders: Limited reconnaissance just north-west of Sawville along road.

2.9 orders: Seize and hold Easttown.

1.9 orders: Seize and hold Sawville.

4.9, 9AT and 9HQ orders: Deploy on centre road to enable support of 2.9 and 1.9.



Attack on Northtown south edge scheduled for Day 2 12:00

1.9 and 2.9 are primary attacking units with 4.9, 9AT and 9HQ supporting.

3.9 will remain at Sawville.

Battalion will fall back to Phase 4 lines if enemy defence stronger than expected.

Deployment until arrival of 9th Panzer Division 2

3.9 orders: Hold bridge south of Sawville.

2.9 orders: Hold Easttown and bridges nearby.

1.9 orders: Hold Sawville.

4.9 and 9AT orders: Hold perimeter south edge of Northtown, possible fallback to Middletown if strong enemy counterattack.

9HQ orders: Secure Middletown perimeter.



Note: Division is scheduled to arrive at Middletown and surrounding area at evening Day 2 latest.

Attack on Northtown expected to proceed early morning Day 3.
