Unit Icons

Couple of questions from a scenario design virgin

Is there any way to modify unit icons, or are they fixed/linked to the original unit by the program? I can see that unit establishments are fixed to a degree, and I'm guessing the icon is also unchangeable.

Also, for playtesting purposes, is there any way to remove the fog of war completely so I can see how the AI is reacting?

Regards
Keith

Keith,

No icons are fixed like estabs.

As to seeing how the AI is playing, well we do have that ability with our debug version but you would have to join our beta testers or become a DDT member to get access to that. What you can do however, is track the results if not the actual plans of the AI controlled side.

Keithrose - You can always save the playtest and hit the surrender button to see what the AI is doing at that particular moment. Then just reload the saved game and continue on.

Thanks for the quick reply guys. I'll continue tinkering. I'm enjoying the flexibility & inbuilt "intelligence" of the scenario designer & the ease of use of the mapmaker - I'll see how my efforts hang together in a scenario.

Looking forward to COTA!

Keith

I'm a new player and was suprised with the fexibility of use of the game. I applied the Military Decision Making Process better known as MDMP and the game helped me exercise this task. I am trying to write a white paper for soldiers recommending the use of the game, but would like to get information on the following:analysis of the model and its abstractions.

Major L,

Thanks for your inquiry. I am happy to answer specific questions. Fire away. However, we have just released our new game Conquest of the Aegean ( COTA ) and I will be taking a short break - back next Wednesday. So i won't be able to respond till then. BTW COTA has more detail in its 208 page Reference Manual about what's under the hood. You may like to have a look at that first. ( Note devious sales pitch here [;)] )
