Question on heat dissipation

Well, i like running very hot mechs, so heat's a very serious issue with me. Now, if millenia helps heat dissipation, how much would having NO armour help heat?

Better to use Vicenium then. It doesn't affect heat dissapation at all. It's the same as not having any armor in terms of heat dissapation, although I'd like to see a viable naked titan.

Stick a boxful of tesla bolts in the centre torso of a titan. Keep the centre torso unarmoured, viscenium on the rest of the titan. Spin the titan around after firing.

Do you *really* think this will work ?

Speaking of Millenia armor..

The ONLY reason for using Millenia anywhere is its 110% heat mod. It weighs too much, takes quite a lot of space (compare to dullaroy, for example) and even with maxed out thickness, yields pathetic armor ratings.

I'd opt for a 120+% heat mod for Millenia to actually make it a worthwhile installment.. Currently it's too weak compared to others. With 120% mod, you could effectively trade at least your CBT and arm armor by not installing a nine-slot heat reg that tends to get damaged way too easily anyway.

On a side thought, I would imagine titans cooling off a bit better 'as is', without even having a heat reg. They're metal and not excactly smooth-surfaced, after all. So, how about cutting like 0.5C/sec off the heat reg ratings and adding that same 0.5C/sec as 'base heat reduction'. Destroying a heat reg would still make your opponent practically immobile and/or very prone to overheating.

Am I missing any important balance considerations here?

Of course you do.
If we change the millenia value all titans with millenia must be changed as the heat reduction is calculated and written in the factory. You are right otherwise as BBlue stated some month ago that Millenia needs some improvements.
There is already a base heat reduction of 0.25C/sec, are you sure 0.5 would make a big difference. We are talking about circumstances which rarely happen in a game at all. Reminds of a discussion like 'Should the chance to grab a bottle of Pepsi with medium damaged grip actuators be further modified by the slipperiness of the surface the bottle was lying on ?'
