Tank attack and defense values

I am wondering how the new tank attack and defense values were worked out. There seems to be some discrepancies, for instance the T-60 (20mm main gun) and T-70 (45 mm gun) appear to have the same attack value (6). Also the T-34/85 and Su-85 (basically same gun I think) have attack values of 13 and 18 respectively. Also some of the German armor seems a bit thick e.g. the Panther defense value of 20. Its frontal armor was good but the side were fairly thin?

Hi!

I think of this values as overall performance.
e.g the SU85 has a lower siluette than the T34/85 and so it may have an advantage in defending. So how to give the Tanks their historical correct values if you have such a scale.
Maybe the values need some tweeking, but they will never be historical correct.

True, the values should reflect overall performance - the Su-85 should have a higher defense value, but surely the T-34/85 should have an equal or greater attack value since it has a turret.

The original WIR data seemed to be loosely based on Steel Panthers I data (or maybe vice versa since WIR was out first). I was just curious how the current values were calculated.
