Mod related questions

Hi
I am purchasing this game today and have a number of mod related questions, not that the answers will effect my decision to buy, but thought the system might work quite well for Great War and Interwar era scenarios.
Is it possible to make scenarios with a smaller map scale say 250 meters or 100 meters per hex ?
In the 500 yard and (if they can be set up, smaller scales) can infantry and armour engage enemy units more than 1 hex away ?
Could chemical weapons be set up in the game editor ?
Kind regards
Ian

Hi,
Well, the scale is arbitrary. There are no different rules for different scales other than there is no direct fire between group units (other than artillery of course), so there are no Line Of Sight Rules and ground units all have a range of one. It's designed as a Battalion/Regiment level game, not a tactical platoon level game.
And no, nothing like chemical weapons...unless you set up Ground Assets to simulate them. Ground Assets can give + shifts to battles so if were doing a WWI scenario, you could create a Mustard Gas attack Ground Asset to give an attack a certain number of shifts advantage.
Cheers,
Brian

Hi Brian
Thanks for that. Yes having bought the game and read the relevant bits of the manual. I see what you mean here. I was thinking of mainly battalions level units with some company level units. Can MG's be set up as a kind of artillery to deliver indirect fire out to 3 or 4 hexes. I with thinking of 400 meters per hex as a scale as most infantry combat (as apposed to heavy MG fire) takes place at 400 meters or less.
It will take me some time to get to learn the game inside out before starting work on my mod but from what I have seen so far I think the system should work well for the Great War and interwar conflicts.
Not red enough to see how it would handle armoured trains though.
Kind regards
Ian

Hi, well there's no Line of sight rules so if you don't mind your MGs firing through friendly units!
Again, you could use Ground Assets to simulate armoured trains.
Cheers,
Brian
