Posting a short vignette from my playthrough of Lesson of War as the Warsaw Pact. I focused on pushing my armored and mechanized units forward rapidly to occupy positions commanding the likely enemy AoA (advancing towards Wotzendorf from the southeast). This resulted in my tank company almost wiping out one of the enemy PzGren companies advancing on Wotzendorf from the south, while the other PzGren company (attempting a flanking attack along the eastern portion of the map) was decimated by a combination of artillery fires and ATGM/small arms from one of my mechanized companies.

I am not sure why the battle plan (FRG1) has such an aggressive opening by the West German force (especially when attacking against superior numbers), but I suppose it is in the spirit of the scenario background. In my playthrough of this scenario as NATO, I opted for a defense in depth with one company securing Stadelhofen while the other company deployed between Stadelhofen and Schederndorf as a second line of defense. I think this scenario overall is very sensitive to timing (on either side) and the first few turns have the potential to decide the entire battle.

A WP decisive victory was attained within the first hour, with the butcher's bill as shown below.
