Depth Chart Reset

Post by 22sec »

I was playing a game when I noticed my defenders were not the ones that I had adjusted to in the DC before the game, but were the ones I had taken out. Now this was after playing a game earlier with my depth chart. These were quick play games using the newest beta patch.

On a side note it would be nice to have an easier method to set depth charts.

I think David has to adjust the code on the depth chart so it looks at position first, then ratings. Otherwise you get QBs as CBs and KRs as QBs, etc.

Right now I believe the AI strictly looks at attributes, making it a nightmare to sort depths charts.

I just ran into this problem tonight. It's extremely frustrating in my case because I'm working on a 1933 league where players played both ways (more or less for the entire game since a player who came out on ANY play in the 30's couldn't come back into the game until the next quarter...). So after setting the depth charts for each of the formations for two teams, I played a quick game. Quit after a half to make some adjustments. Restarted a new game, and the CPU substitued for both teams. GAH! I'm wondering if each reboot of the game resets some flag and gives the CPU 'license' to make changes in game... If so, could there at least be an option to have any depth charts take 'permanent' effect? Please? :)

Makes me wonder if we can make a simple change, then go back to what we had, and it'll make the CPU assume a change was made and therefore keep the depth charts you want in the game. I noticed a LOT of weirdness in the Quick Play game too. Things like the FB taking two steps towards the line out of any play (and I'd never set that in the PDS), or the FB appearing on the other side of the HB, literally on top of the QB (in an 'A' formation which basically swaps the QB and HB in a shotgun).
