Kickoff bug

Canadian rules game, I kicked off and my kicker booted it out the back of the end zone. Instead of giving the other team the ball at its own 25, it gave me the ball at my own 35. I've never seen this before, other kickoffs worked fine.

Well.. that's strange.. the code doesn't change so if it worked properly 'other times' it should work properly all the time.. given exactly the same situations.
 
Was there anything special about this case?

I wonder if this is releated to the rouge issue Old Coach was having.

A single point isn't awarded on kickoffs that go out the back of the endzone.
 
The issue that Old Coach brought up would have nothing to do with a problem in the kickoff routine.

Hmm...I can't remember anything really different.  It went over the returner's head, it looked like he could've caught it but he didn't.  I don't remember if it went through the uprights or not.
