[:)]Welcome!

Briefly, here are 2 suggestions:
1. Read the manual.pdf, and play all the tutorial scenarios that came with the game. Search the manual.pdf to find references to scoring and such to figure out how that works (you need a 3:1 points ratio to beat the computer opponent).
2. Head over to the Depot at www.spwaw.com, and join the Depot Academy, take the courses, and learn millions of wonderful things from all the helpful folks there.

Have fun! You can do it... you will win.

Welcome grunge!
Victory is scored abstractly. You get points for destroying things and taking objectives. Tiger tanks are worth more than say, Stuarts. If you get a sufficient score ratio, you win a Marginal or Decisive victory. No one is very happy with the system. The important thing is to have fun. If you took all the objectives, or kept your opponent from taking them, then you won in my book. Zhukov probably would have never scored better than a draw, but he never lost a battle. When you get better at the game, cut down on your own losses and your score will improve.
Astrologers believe that your future is determined on the day that you are born.
Warriors know that your future is determined on the day that your enemy dies.

Welcome, grunge. [:)]

I second the advice of JEB. Strange fellow, but a smart one none-the-less. [:'(]
