Post by vipers »

Hi I am new to this forum but not to Tillers Campaign Series.I had all the games

years ago under Talonsofts label. So I was interested to see what Matrix will do.I just

ordered it but I was wondering are all the addons and expansion be on one cd?

I hope a printed Manual will be with it.Can anyone tell what addons and expansion are included I have long since

forgotten what these were.

I tried to find an appropriate thread to post a couple of simple questions.

I'm a total newb to Campaign Series.  I've read through a bunch of these threads but still have a few questions.

Does CS model armored conflict and how well and how does it do it?  Is there direct fire over several hexes (similar to Steel Panthers and/or PzCampaigns McNamara Alt Sce's)?  When you need to withdraw armor do they keep their current facing or do they turn around and show their backsides to the enemy?

Are there any games that are very similar except Squad Battles (which I don't have)?

I have other ?s but I'll  look for those answers before I post again.

Yes. Ranges vary depending on the weapon system in question. A PzV can "shoot" farther than a PzII.

They turn and show their backsides. Keep in mind it is a platoon level game and hexes are 250 meters across. There are tactics you can use to minimize losses from this.

Alternatively, there is an option where you can turn "armour facing" OFF, so it doesn't matter if your rear is facing the enemy as the vehicle will use a single defensive value.

Most human vs human players play with armoured facing ON, although there are a few players out there that prefer them OFF. When playing the AI, it is best to turn it OFF.

Steel Panthers, although the scale of the Campaign Series is Platoon level.
