Slightly updated version now available thx to additional playtesting.

changes noted below. [:)]

Version 1.1

Changes:

1) Air HQ’s removed.

Purpose: Presence of Air HQ’s, particularly the one located at Rabaul were counteracting the AV reduction and better allowing high maintenance levels for large #’s of bombers vs. low AV. These unit’s also were allowing bigger and more consistent air strikes even when numbers invoked overstack penalties vs. airfield size.

2) Halved the number of PT’s available in the scenario.

Purpose: PT’s now become available only later in scenario to enhance local protection but not in numbers to make them “throw-away” assets. Defense now relies more heavily on major warships as with the RL campaign.

oooo.....dar.....not sure.

I know Andrew's way too busy right now but I might be able to pull it off. Besides eye candy, is there a compelling reason for using his map for the Solomons area?

Apart from reloading maps everytime I want to play this scenario?? Probably not......

Yep eyecandy is the main reason and also the base locations are a bit different. BTW I'Ve just played the first month against the AI and I have to say this is a very well done mod! So you might consider changing your full scenarios to this way. I was sceptical for the IJN torp plane loadouts but it works just fine, the number of torp hits is much more realistical and finally these bombers have some use against land targets.
Also it is a lot more difficult to kill subs so one has to be careful when plotting TF path...

Now I'm in October of 42 and had a nice lil' CV battle with the AI and it was astonishingly balanced action, so I really really like this mod. One has to be very careful with IJN subs now, they are the real killers...
