Witp?

Post by Wasp »

This is a recopy of my post on the UV forum, but I wonder if the following things are going to be included in WITP so I decided to post here. Well, could anyone please tell me if these things are included in the game?

1. Aircraft carriers usually carried a normal complement of aircraft as well as "spare aircraft" in her hanger so when the normal complement of aircraft were damaged and unable to fly they would use these to replace them, so that a carrier could maintain her complement of aircraft. Are these "spare aircraft" going to be included in WITP?
For example:
(This is a historically accurate number)
Shokaku-class
(Shokaku & Zuikaku)-72 planes 12 spare Total: 84
Shoho-class
(Shoho, Zuiho, & Ryujyo)-27 planes 3 spare Total:30
Exception: Ryujyo had 24 planes and 7 spare Total:31
etc...

2. Would you be able to change load outs on planes?
Ex.1 Loading up a fighter with bombs and attacking surface targets

Ex.2 Changing armaments on bombers-load up a 800kg bomb on a Kate instead of 3 250kg bombs or loading smaller 30 or 60kg bombs.

3. I heard that the Japanese used Armor piercing bombs and contact bombs. Are these going to be included in the game? If so, how would you rate them? Because I heard that AP bombs would penetrate several decks of an ship, then explode inside her hull; causing huge damage.

4. How about prototypes and upgrades?:) I think in WITP this is more important than UV because of the longer time frame. Would you get a chance to recieve prototype aircraft (Ex. getting an F6F early in the game), equipment, etc earlier than the historical dates, or get your ship upgraded (add AA guns, add armor, radar, sonar, etc. but not so that you would end up with an undefeatable aircraft carrier with 500 AA guns and 400mm of Armor.) based on your performance and the time period? Or even upgrade aircraft so that they have more range, guns, stronger engine, etc? How about ground units? Do they get upgrades as well? (Ex. radar, more troops, more guns, that kind of thing). I think having such an option would allow more uncertainty and more fun to the game.

Ok, I have two more question and it is about Torpedoes

5. I understand that the Japanese were the only ones to use the Type 93 Oxygenated Torpedo (Which had a 800Kg warhead, Top spd of 48KTs(?), very long range as well as having no wake.)
Well, since there is no wake, it would be harder to spot, how is this factor included in the game?

6. Finally, does a ship see a wake of a torpedo and try to evade if there is any at all? Or is it a sudden surprise where you can't tell until you are hit? Because it would be unrealistic if you could not detect a torpedo heading your way!

So could anyone please tell me if these things are going to be included in the game?

Thank you:D
